Levi Celerio-he is “the only person who could play music with a leaf” labeled by the Guinness Book of World Records
 Thanks to this talent of his, he was led to international TV guest appearances
 He belonged to a poor family. His father was involved in a real estate & jewelry business
 His mother was a harpist & church choir member
 His mom used music to divert his attention from poverty
 He became close with a famous gang leader, the Manila King pin & Hitler of Tondo: Asiong Salonga
 He attended Torres High School while being a band member & entered the UP Conservatory of Music to study
violin for 2 semesters
 Up-this was the only state-run school that offered music as a degree
 He became a multi-talented artist
 He teaches us how to look for the beauty out of the slums
 He used his day-to-day challenges that exist in his home as the inspiration
 He composed 4,000 songs
 He is the only National Artist awarded for both music & literature
 He is a poet & an actor who appeared in various Philippine Films of the 1950s & 1960s

Restituto Aquino Umali-he is not only good at music, but he is an all-around man
 his father taught violin & exposed the family to Rondalla regularly
 he learned solfeggio & score analysis
 He also finished an electrician’s course at the Philippine School of Arts
 He finished 3 different courses in different fields: Music, Business, & Electronics
 He wrote the songs “Saan ka man Naroroon”
 He arranged the Philippine National anthem

Ernani Joson Cuenco-he is considered the most important composer during the second golden age of Philippines cinema
in 1980s
 He wrote songs for movies & did music scoring
 He was also a music director & a music teacher
 He was discovered by actor, ex-president, & ex-Manila mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada
 He was the one that composed film ballads & collaborated with other artists, such as Levi Celerio
 His songs are well-loved up to this day
 Thanks to him, music in Tagalog films was born in a uniquely Filipino way

George Masangkay Canseco-he did not study in music schools, nor did his parents have any music backgrounds
 He is self-taught in piano & learned to interpret, write, & compose notes at an early age
