Year 1 (2024-2025)

- Share this three-year plan with supervisor. Request to check in on progress during annual
performance review.
- Consciously create a partnered program with a colleague (sustainability, Giving Garden,
student activities, Husky volunteers, or ASUWT)
- Write a transition document/instruction book for student media advising
- Complete abandoned student media rubrics using the 4x4 model
- Create a personalized one-stop referral guide to other student services on campus
- Put Student Affairs NOW into podcast rotation.
- Set a weekly appointment for Professional Development reading, with baseline reading
being the Chronicle of Higher Education and the Journal of Student Affairs in Higher
Education.
- In October, identify an unfamiliar topic of interest, and write out a one-year plan for
becoming competent enough to field a workshop at NASPA WRC 2025.
- Volunteer for a committee engaged in DEI initiatives on campus or student recognition.
- Coordinate with IT to create a direct Student Involvement pipeline to their e-waste
recycling services.

Year 2 (2025-2026)
- Research the policies of Office of Research or current institution’s internal review board.
- Take a course in Qualtrics or other relevant data collection and presentation tools.
- Develop a survey with the purpose of tracking a metric of performance in a campus
department.
- Submit workshop proposal from previous year’s study topic to NASPA WRC
- If selected, present.
- Submit an article to Chronicle of Higher Education.
- Join a NASPA knowledge community that meets regularly and participate.
- Become acquainted with campus student faith groups and volunteer to assist with some
form of programming (Addresses NASPA/ACPA competency relating to activities that
challenge personal beliefs)
- Approach Global Honors program about a co-curricular partnership program.
- Presentation proposal for 2027 NASPA national conference
Year 3 (2026-2027)
- Volunteer for service on a NASPA or ACPA committee
- Volunteer as campus mentor for new staff
- Service in UWT Staff Association or equivalent
- If logical, adapt previous year’s survey results toward an implementation plan.
- Campus and Student Affairs strategic plans go up for review. Volunteer for service with
campuswide Strategic Planning Committee.
- Propose internal risk management and legal compliance review committee.
- Testify to state legislature on policy affecting public higher education.
- If proposal selected for NASPA National conference, present.
