I. OBJECTIVES 1. Differentiate sequential and non-sequential reading


2. Identify common examples of non-linear
representations like charts, tables and graphs.

3. Analyze relationships between these textual


representations, and transcode linear to non-linear
texts and vice-versa.

A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of: pre-


colonial Philippine literature as a means of connecting
to the past; various reading styles; ways of
determining word meaning; the sounds of English and
the prosodic features of speech; and correct subject-
verb agreement

comprehending texts using appropriate reading styles;
participating in conversations using appropriate
context-dependent expressions; producing English
sounds correctly and using the prosodic features of

The learner will read the main lesson ( Linear and


Non-Linear Texts) which is found on pages 33-34

C. Engagement
The learner will engage himself/herself in the
different task by doing Learning Task 3, 4 and 5 on
pages 36 found on the E-Phase of the module.

task 6 on page 36
