Topic: Business Exposure: Arizona Combat Sports

Platform

1. The social media platforms I would use are Instagram and TikTok. I would use

Instagram because it is mainly photo and video based. Since my project is on a combat

sports gym I would expect people want to see videos and photos of people training. I

would also use TikTok for the same reason. But by using TikTok I can use the

randomized algorithm and hope a video gets a lot of views and boost my following.

2. A social media platform I would find no use in using is Snapchat. Snapchat is mainly

used for communication and would not be great to expose my story to new viewers. The

only thing that could be somewhat useful is the spotlight tab. But this feature is not even

frequently used.

Content Curation

A. On Instagram I would share my still photography and some other short clips I have of

people training. I would share these because they are very easily digestible pieces of

media that someone can look at quickly and know if they like it or not.

B. For TikTok I would share my videos of the gym and what goes on in it. TikTok is mainly

video based so that is what people are expecting to consume. Anything else I would

expect quick swipe ups.

For this project to work on social media I would have to do a lot of reworking. First,

the written elements would have to become much shorter. I would most likely rework them

into captions on posts, videos, and stories. Next, the video element would be broken down

smaller. I would refilm most of it vertically and publish it on TikTok as 15-20 second long

videos. I could also add data elements such as my graphs as little pop-ups on the TikToks
to recapture a viewer's attention. Lastly, I would keep the photos the same but post them

to Instagram on the photo carousel.

Audience Engagement

1. My intended audience is young adults who already train martial arts or are interested in

beginning. This is my audience I am looking for because they are more likely to engage

with a story on a martial arts gym.

2. A huge thing I would utilize is the hashtag on TikTok for the algorithm. I would use simple

ones such as #mma, #ufc, #mcgregor. By using these three I can have a better chance at

getting an audience of martial arts fans. Also I would try to use fun polls such as what is

your favorite fighter, favorite art, or the hardest sport. The can cause fun light-hearted

controversy on my profile and give more views and comments.
