Welcome to

Our Math Class

At the end of the session, the students
should be able to:

1. illustrate Unequal Angles and Unequal

Sides Theorem (M8GE- IVa-1)
2. apply Unequal Angles and Unequal
Sides Theorem; and
3. participate actively during the
discussion.
Illustrating Unequal
Angles and Unequal
Sides Theorem
Review
Find the value of the unknown.
1. p + 5 = 23
2. m - 7 = 14
3. 4x - 4 = x +11
4. 7k = 28
5. 3n + 9 = b + 13
Introductory Activity
1. Using a ruler, measure the sides
opposite the angles with given sides.
2. Develop the relationship of angles
of a triangle and the lengths of the
sides opposite.
Based on the activity, what is the
relationship between the angles of a
triangle and the sides opposite them?
When one angle of a triangle is larger
than a second angle, then the side
opposite the
the side opposite the second angle.
UNEQUAL ANGLES THEOREM
If one angle of a triangle is larger than
the second, the side opposite the larger
angle is longer the side opposite the
second angle.

Solution:

7x+25+96-5x+12x+3=180
14x+124=180
14x=180-124
14x=56
x=4
UNEQUAL SIDES THEOREM
If one side of a triangle is longer than the
second, then the angle opposite the longer
side is larger than the angle opposite the
shorter side.
