Materials:

Cotton Aran
• MC – 1 ¾ oz (50g) of worsted weight
(10ply Aran) yarn in beige (Color 26)
• CC1 - small amount of cream (Color
17)
• CC2 – small amount of moss green
(Color 25)
• CC3 – small amount of black (Color
15)
• CC4 - Furry yarn for top of boot.
Sample uses Plymouth Yarn, Just Fur
Kicks in Tiger (203).
• Crochet hook 3.5mm (E) or size
needed to obtain gauge
• Yarn needle
• 8 x 2cm Brass D Ring Buckles. They
can be bought from the following
website www.aliexpress.com if you
search for 2cm D rings you will find a
good selection.
Gauge:
width 17 hdc = 4” (10cm)
height 12 rows of hdc = 4” (10cm)
Please check gauge/finished dimensions
before you begin to avoid disappointment.

Invisible slip
stiTches/join
This method gives a professional finish to your
items. Rather than joining with a typical slip
stitch, cut yarn and thread yarn end through
your needle. Insert the needle under the top
two loops of the stitch you wish to join to....
SUMMIT SNOWBOOT

...pull through, then insert needle back into the
original stitch.
Pull through until the invisible st is the same
size and appearance as the other slst’s. Sew in
ends.
Use normal slst’s to join all rounds unless
instructed to finish with an invisible slst/join.
Joining the 2
soles together
When joining the soles together for round 4,
ensure that the 2hdc at the centre of the heel
of each sole is lined up with the other sole and
start your slst’s from here. This will ensure that
the sole is nice and straight.
Join with the wrong sides together
For Beginners..
For sc rounds, the first sc is always worked
into the first st (same st as ch1).
For hdc and dc rounds the beg ch2/3 counts
as a st, and the first st should be worked into
the next st (unless told otherwise).

When instructed to join to ch2, join at the
orange arrow, when instructed to join to the 1st
hdc, join to blue arrow (on the left). If you join
to ch2, the first st of the round should be
worked into the 1st hdc (blue arrow).
Size 0-3 mos
3.5” (9cm) finished length
Sole On the first round it changes back
and forth from sc to hdc – so pay
attention!
Round 1. With MC, ch11, 2sc in 2nd ch from
hook, hdc 8, 6hdc in last, hdc 8, 2sc in last.
Join to 1st sc with a slst (26sts).
Round 2. Ch2, (count as 1hdc) hdc in
same st as ch2, 2hdc in next, hdc 9, 2hdc
in each of the next 5 sts, hdc 9, 2hdc in last
st, join to beginning ch2 with a slst (34sts).
Round 3. Ch2 (count as 1hdc), 2hdc in 1st
hdc, 1hdc in next, 2hdc in next, hdc 10,
[2hdc, hdc] rep 5 times, hdc 9, 2hdc in last
st, join to beg ch2 with a slst, break yarn
and sew in ends (42sts).
MAKE 2 SOLES IN MC
Round 4. Assemble the 2 soles with the
wrong sides together. Using CC1 and
beginning between 2hdc at the heel, slst
41 around the outside to join the 2 soles
together, invisible join (see pg 1), sew in

ends (42slsts – join counts as a st). Flip work back around the right way and
sew in ends (slst’s are on the inside).

Round 7. Join CC3 in the first sc from Rnd 6

(white st’s).
Upper

Round 5. Join CC1 in the invisible slst (pic

below)

Work in the BLO for this round. Ch2, (counts

as 1hdc), hdcBLO 11, hdc2togBLO 2 times,
dc2togBLO 5 times, hdc2togBLO 2 times,
hdcBLO 12, join to ch2 with a slst (33sts).

Ch1, sc 42, join to 1st sc with a slst (42sts).

Round 6. Ch1, sc in each st around (42sts).

Join to 1st sc with a slst, fasten off, sew in
ends.

Trim. Turn work inside out. Attach CC2 at

the back and slst around. Join to 1st slst.
Round 8. Ch2, (count as 1hdc), hdc 11,
hdc2tog 5 times, hdc 11, join to ch2 with a
slst (28sts). Fasten off, sew in ends.

Tongue
Row 1. Join MC in the BLO of the 5th
st to
the right from the central hdctog (arrow).
Ch1, hdcBLO in same st as ch1, hdcBLO in
next st, dc2togBLO 3 times, hdcBLO in last
2 sts (7sts).
Row 2. Ch2, turn, hdc in same st as ch2,
hdc2tog, 1hdc, hdc2tog, 2hdc in last.
(7sts).
Row 3. Ch2, turn, hdc 6 (7sts).
Rows 4 -8 Rep Row 3. Fasten off and sew
in ends.
Sides
Join MC in the same st as last st of tongue
is joined to.
Row 1. Ch2, hdc in same st as ch2, hdc in
next 18 sts, 2hdc in same st as otherside of
tongue (22sts).
Row 2. Ch2, turn, hdc to end (22sts).
Rows 3-7. Rep Row 2 (22sts).

of the next 5 sts, hdc 11, 2hdc in last st, join
to top of beg ch2 with a slst (38sts).
Round 3. Ch2 (count as 1hdc), 2hdc in 1st
hdc (if unsure, check section at
beginning), 1hdc in next, 2hdc in next st,
hdc 12, [2hdc, hdc] rep 5 times, hdc 11,
2hdc, join to beg ch2, fasten off and sew
in ends (46sts).
MAKE 2 SOLES IN MC
Round 4. Assemble the 2 soles with the
wrong sides together. Using CC1 and
beginning between the 2hdc at the heel,
slst 45 around the outside to join the soles
together, invisible join to first slst (see pg 1),
sew in ends (46sts – count invisible join as a
st).
Upper
Round 5. Join CC1 in the invisible st (see
picture below). Ch1, sc 45, join to 1st sc

Round 6. Ch1, sc in each st around (46sts).
Trim. Turn work inside out. Attach CC2 at
the back and slst around. Join to 1st slst.
Flip work back around the right way and
sew in ends (slst’s are on the inside).
Round 7. Join CC3 in the 1st sc from Rnd 6.
WORK IN THE BACK LOOP ONLY FOR THIS
ROUND. Ch2, (counts as 1hdc), hdcBLO

Finishing – All sizes
Fur Trim
Using Furry yarn, join yarn in the top corner
of boot as shown.
Row 1. Ch2, then, working on the inside of
the boot, sc loosely into the bottom of
each st (arrows below indicate where to
insert your hook).
Continue to end.
Row 2. Ch1, turn, sc normally to end.
Fasten off and sew in ends.
D ring tabs for laces
Row 1. Using black CC3 yarn, and holding
a D ring between your thumb and middle
finger, join CC3 to ring with a ch1, then sc
2 into the D ring along the straight edge

(2sts).
Row 2. Ch1, turn, sc 2 across (2sts).
Row 3. Rep row 2. Fasten off leaving a
long tail, and use the long tail to sew the
tab onto the sides of the boots.
Rep this step 4 times for all the D rings.
Sew in all ends, cut a length of CC3 yarn
(approx. 23” or 60cm) and thread through
the D rings, then use your yarn needle to
thread finally through the top of the boot.
