BAND
Rnds 1-5: Ch 1 (does not count as a st
here and in following rnds), working in
back loops only, sc in same st and in
each st around. Join in both loops. (48,
50, 53, 55 sc)
FINISHING
Fasten off. (Online: Near-invisible
fastening off.) If you have a hole at the
top of your hat, and you don’t want one,
work a Retroactive Magic Loop. With a
yarn needle, simply weave through the
stitches in the beginning round, pull tight
and secure. You can use the yarn tail or
a separate length of yarn. Weave in
ends.
SIZE ADJUSTMENTS
If beanie is slightly too loose, tighten the
bottom edge by working one or two
sc2tog decreases (see Stitch Guide on
Page 3) in Round 3 of the Band. Each
sc2tog will tighten the Band by approx.
½ in./1.25 cm.
