In the Suikerlaan there are temporary studios for international students. From what I have heard there are a few still
available.

I have no experience with this company or the studios themselves. Hope this helps!

If all else fails, take a look at the organisations listed and linked in this sticky topic:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Groningen/comments/pckv8t/couchsurfing_initiative_for_homeless_students/
It's also wise to contact Juridisch Loket. They offer free legal advice for those that need it and can refer to any
relevant lawyer, often with some sort of financial assistance.

OP: this is very important: What does your contract say? Landlady cannot randomly throw you out.

Last time I checked, Xior Groningen had some apartments left. However, they are expensive, so I'm not sure if that's
possible for you.

Maybe check out SSH? It might be a bit more on the expensive side but they usually have spots free.

I'm going to save this and check with a landlord I know to check if he has any vacancies.

They can only do that if you are more than 2 months behind on rent and they got a court ruling. If they don't have that
you can call the police and they will take your side.

If they want to kick you out when there are no late payments, then they have to inform you at least three months
in advance (WITH reasons).

Depends on what they rented. If it's just a room, (onzelfstandige woonruimte) the landlord/home owner can end
the contract whenever they want during the first 9 months.

Also call 09008020 this is the number for free legal counseling from the government. They can give you advice on
the phone and you can meet with them on a video call

You’re assuming they are being kicked out, but it might very well be that they had a contract for six months and
the landlady does not want to prolong it, as it would turn into a rental agreement for indefinite time automatically.

No, a huurcontract voor bepaalde tijd can be for up to two years, but once the time runs out and the
landlord gives you another contract it has to be indefinite (onbepaalde tijd).
Source: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/woning-verhuren/vraag-en-antwoord/welke-
mogelijkheden-heb-ik-om-mijn-woning-tijdelijk-te-verhuren

One of you could get a room in the student hotel, and the other can sneak in and stay there. I know many people
who pull this off just fine

Depends on the contract, if it was a contract for a certain period you can be told to leave after that period. But
only after the period, not during.

Sadly I don't know anyone with a room available. I'll comment and upvote in the hopes of the algorithm boosting the
visibility of this post.
