This document covers the configuration process of the new Landis Gyr CU-E22 Module.
The CU-E22 module is either used as the communication module directly installed on Landis
Gyr Meters or as a gateway device for meters from other manufacturers (Elster). Depending on
the use, the configuration parameters are different.
Connect to Eth1 Port and set the IPV4 setting on your PC to “Obtain IP Address Automatically”
Open the Network setting from the Communication menu on the left, then click on Ethernet to
configure the IP Interface.
Setting the interface to be bridged on eth0 and eth1 means that the management GUI will be
accessible on the IP address that is set in the settings. In the example above, once the
configuration has been saved and applied, the GUI will no longer be accessible on the default IP
172.16.0.1/24. Instead, it will be accessible on 192.168.0.15/16
The IP address is set using a special CIDR notation that sets the subnet mask in this module.
The following table can be used as a reference to set the desired subnet mask:
Click on Save once the required IP Address and the subnet mask has been set. Once the page
reloads after clicking save, click on apply configuration change to change the IP address of the
module.
Once this operation is successfully completed, the GUI needs to be reloaded using the
configured IP Address and the credentials need to be input again as before. The IP address of
the PC from which the connection is being made needs to be changed as well to be on the
same subnet as is configured.
After loading the GUI again, open the forwarding menu from Communication:
Remove the 2nd channel named modem by clicking on “X” at the end of the parameter section in
the forwarding configuration and change the Endpoint 3 for the ETH Channel as follows:
When installed as a gateway module for Elster Meters in AMI Systems, the configuration of the
CU-XE Modules differs from the aforementioned instructions.
The IP Address will need to be configured as per the IP Address list from SEC in a similar way
as mentioned above.
