Features:
Alarms
•Alarm Server
monitors and optionally historically logs alarms (process alarms, events, holds) from controllers (Mark* VIe, Mark VIeS, Mark
Ve or Mark VI).
It also monitors diagnostic events from controllers and Mark VIe I/O packs.
Optionally, the alarm server can be configured to consume alarms from external OPC® AE servers to allow third part alarm
content into our system.
•OPC AE Server
provides access to external OPC AE clients to view the alarms and events that are available in the above Alarm Server feature.
•EGD
The Workstation can be configured to produce EGD exchanges.
EGD variables currently are from 3 sources:
‒ External OPC DA server variables accessed from the WorkstationST OPC DA server’s OPC DA client feature.
‒ WorkstationST owned OPC DA variables driven by any external OPC DA client.
‒ Modbus variables from external masters or slaves.
Historians
• Recorder
provides access to live collections at up to frame rate periods.
Variables can be configured in ToolboxST to be collected by the recorder.
The following data can be automatically uploaded to files that can be viewed using ToolboxST trender:
‒ Trip logs
‒ Capture blocks in controller logic and Dynamic Data Recorder (DDR)
‒ Triggerable collections in the controller
HMI Configuration
WorkstationST
provides an importer to synchronize a CIMPLICITY project’s point configuration database,
measurement systems, resources, alarm classes, and alarm points with the ToolboxST
configuration.
This application includes a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Config feature and an HMI File
Utility feature.
‒ HMI Config
‒ The HMI File
The HMI Config feature is used to run the Importer, which allows you to import device, variable,
and other data into a CIMPLICITY® database.
The data collected by the HMI Importer for the CIMPLICITY database includes:
• Device variables (all variables on each produced exchange for all Consumed devices)
• Device ports
• Devices (CIMPLICITY)
• Resources
• Enumerations
• Measurement units (format specifications)
• Alarms, SOEs, Holds, and Events
• Alarm classes
Note
The HMI Importer sub-feature is started automatically
whenever the Workstation is downloaded.

CIMPLICITY Project Wizard Configuration
Step 3 of 3
The CIMPLICITY Project Wizard Step 3 of 3 dialog box lets you configure points for devices that you have configured for this project.
Use this dialog box to:
• Add new ports
• Add new points
• Remove a currently configured point
• Modify the properties for a point
• Select Back to move to the previous page of the Project Wizard

Network Options
You can select one of the following options:
• Stand alone
Select this option if you do not want to connect to other projects in your enterprise, and
you do not want other projects in your enterprise to connect to this project.
• Accept connections
Select this option if you want to connect to other projects in your enterprise and you
want other projects to connect to this project.
Point Class
Points can be one of three classifications.
You select the class based on how the point will be used.
The point classes are:
Important:
Configure a 3D_BCD or 4D_BCD Point Bridge type point as a UINT point.
The BCD data types are used by the devcom to convert binary data coming from a PLC.
When the Point Bridge receives data from the source system, BCD conversion has already occurred.
Performing BCD conversion again on data will cause it to be converted twice, and, as a result, give incorrect
values.

Boolean/Text Points Class
Boolean Points:
BOOL A one digit Boolean point with a
value of 0 or 1.
BYTE 8-bits of data.
WORD 16 bits of data.
DWORD 32 bits of data.
Text Points:
STRING A one-character alphanumeric.
STRING_20 A 20-character alphanumeric
string.
STRING_8 An 8-character alphanumeric
string.
STRING_80 An 80-character alphanumeric
string.
