There was a vast empire which ruled this place once, before it stretched too thin and devoured itself from the inside out. Now, new factions have risen up to
take control in the vacuum. They will have to fight to expand their reach and wrest control from their rivals. You are these Factions.
1.
Describe your Faction (You can be goblins, orcs, insects, etc.): Start with 1d6 for sheer luck. Add 1d6 for any relevant traits. If you use
An Empire, A Democracy, A Corporation, A Kingdom, A Hive Mind, A EXPLORE or EXPAND, you succeed if you roll above the number. If you
Rebellion, A Horde, An Infection, A Cult, An Algorithm, An Ecosystem. use EXTERMINATE or EXPLOIT, you succeed if you roll below it.
2.
Pick two Traits you possess (or come up with your own):
Diplomatic, Tactical, Cruel, Brave, Generous, Unpredictable, Greedy, If you succeed, you may do the Action an amount of times equal to your
Observant, Unforgiving, Secretive, Kind, Terrifying, Disliked, Foolish. successes. However, your Score changes by 1 for each time you do so:
decreasing for EXTERMINATE/EXPLOIT or increasing for

Pick your EXPLORE/EXTERMINATE & EXPAND/EXPLOIT Scores: EXPLORE/EXPAND. (Note: Your Score can’t go below 1 or above 6.)
Pick two numbers between 2 and 5. The lower it is the worse you are.
If you fail, you lose a People, Resource, Colony, Mill, or Route. Your choice.
4.
Establish your base:
Put a Colony and a Mill on the map, drawing a Route between them. If you roll the Number, you get a RANDOM ENCOUNTER. A problem
Place 2 People on the Colony and add 2 Resources to your sheet. presents itself and you can use any Stat to try to overcome it. If you
succeed on this roll, you succeed with your new action. If you fail, you don’t.
The person who starts is the first person to raise their hand after this point.
Then it goes counter-clockwise.
