In this integral period, English which is considered as a common language,
plays an important role in communication between all of countries over the
world. Therefore, learning English is necessary and significant for everyone
and especially for students at the universities and colleges. They have
opportunities not only to communicate with foreigners, travel around the
world but also get a high-quality job in the future.
In the last semester of my fourth year at university, I have just completed my
internship program in the Global Edu International English Center. The
essence of the internship program is helping the last year students to apply the
knowledge into real life following a scientific, creative way and also training
themselves to be more independent and professional in working. I think that
the trainingtimeinthiscenter gives me a different perspective about real work,
which requires more soft skills that theoretical backgrounds are not enough. I
have got a lot of knowledge from training process at this internship agency.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the teachers at the Foreign
Languages Department, Vinh University for being devoted which helps me so
much learning. I’m very grateful for the enthusiasm guidance of Mrs. Nguyen
Thi Lam Giang, my supervisor who lets me know how to be more creative and
adapt myself to my job.She shows my mistakes, encourages me to try more and
relates her experiences, sothatI can progress during the practical time.
In addition, I would like to give the special thank to Mrs. Dang Thi Thanh
Huyen, director of the Global Edu International English Center, and Mrs.
Nguyen Thi Ha Giang, Center’s teacher who guided me to do many nice things
in here. She cares and teaches me many precious lessons which are useful for
my future job. Therefore, I had some experiences that would be my valuable
treasure to enter the career, such as: teaching methods for kids, how to design
an interesting lecture, etc.. I respect the internship time at the Global Edu
International English Center because after that, I’m more mature than

1.2. Goals
Global Vietnam always focus on the teaching quality of English learning
programs for students to be more successful. With more than 8 years of
teaching experience, 100% foreign teachers have a high level of expertise, and
our exclusive LETS method not only helps students use English fluently and
confidently but also develops the life skills needed to achieve high achievement
in learning and solidify the future. Students' success is also our success.
1.3. Organization diagram of the Global Center:
Each branch has a manager and 2 consultative persons, they often arrange
learning and teaching schedules for students and teachers everyday. Therefore,
they play a critical role in the center’s development. Choosing Global Edu

International English Center for your children is right and suitable. There are
many classes organized with different levels in the afternoon and in the
evening from Monday to Friday, especially on Saturday and Sunday, there are
some morning classes. To be more specific, in the morning from 8:00 a.m to
9:45 a.m, in the afternoon and evening from5:30p.mto7:15 p.m and from 7:30
p..m to 9:15 p.m.
1.4. Summary of the duties and responsibilities performed by the intern.
- Teaching assistant is the main job I work as an intern at Global English
center. The first day I came this center to meet Ms. Hien - Manager Center, she
required me that support for both customer officers department and teaching
assistant at center. Beside that, this job can help me have time to observe
teachers and students in class that support for teaching assistant job. The duty
of a customer officer may include answering student’s parents, reminding
parents before class begin, checking attendance with teaching assistant,
writing message to send to parents.
- Before being main teaching assistant for class, Ms Ha Giang allowed me to
observe some classes to help me how to know to do this job well. To me,
teaching assistant is more difficult, because I will support teacher and work
with students at the same time. In addition, I must demonstrate excellent
written and verbal communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of
classroom activities and teaching methods. Moreover, I need to do explain to
students anything they don’t understand if requested by teachers, help
teachers with registers, attendance check, record of work.
The internship in Global Edu English Vinh brought me a lot of benefits. This
was a wonderful opportunity for me to experience myself and apply what I
have learnt for a real work

CHAPTER II. PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES
Throughout the internship progress about six weeks from February 22nd to
April 04th , I had the oportunity to experience differences teaching methods
through lots of lesson from teachers at Global Center, improve my knowledge
as well as cultivate others skills like speaking and listening skills when
communicating with foreign teachers. In my opinion, these precious
experiences will help me a lot from my work in future. From that, there were
valuable lessons to be learned form this internship process.
2.1. What I have done:
2.1.1. In the first week (From February 22nd, 2022 to 27th February,
2022)
I worked as a customer officers staff to support this department, Ms. Nguyen
Thi Ha Giang guided me many works as: calling for students’ parents, writing
messages, mails to inform lesson schedule in this week, checking attendance
before class begin. Moreover, I participated in support for marketing, programs
“one for day”- on the topic about spring. Beside that, I also observed classes
that help me to do teaching assistant position well. Sometimes, Ms. Ha Giang
guided me do something as: writing message by Alex’s messenger system of
Global Center which send content of each lesson, sorting document and
learning use photocopy machine. In this week, I observed many works, not
only I learnt how I could understand the professional work style in the career
but also I learnt about various knowledge what I need in the future. Ms. Ha
Giang always answer every questions, moreover, I learnt many experiences
from them. Therefore, this week I got more knowledge about teaching
assistant’s duty and learnt new skills when I work with parents of students.
2.1.2. In the second week (From 28th February, 2022 to March 6th, 2022)
I supportted for customer officers do some works as: calling for parents to
inform class, writing mail and messages send to parents, checking attendance
students and observing class. In this week, I have new task that is direct
observation some classes to prepare for doing teaching assistance next class.
Then, I did teaching assistant fo. In this week, I knew how to prepare necessary
materials for teacher, explain to students anything they don’t understand if
requested by teachers.
2.1.3. In the third week (From March 7th, 2022 to March 13th, 2022)
I worked as teaching assistant with some classes. Beside that, this week I
must correcting homework for seven classes. I worked with foreign teachers
more so that help me could communicate and also improve my listening,

speaking skills. This week, I was assigned a new task of tutoring for the
students of the center – Primary 2 (grade 4th). Before each tutoring lesson, I
discussed with foreign teachers about the problem that the student is not good
enough to prepare the lesson content as well as appropriate grammar. I have
to be sure what the learning is and take notes in file of Global center after each
lesson.
2.1.4. In the fourth week (From March 14th, 2022 to March 20st, 2022).
The main duty of this week is supporting for teacher in classes and preparing
document, power point for the lesson to teach some classes. When the classes
have parent meeting or speaking test , the foreign teachers go to the test
room to check each student, during this time I need to control and review for
students about the vocabulary and grammar to support them.
2.1.5. In the fifth week (From March 21nd, 2022 to March 27nd, 2022).
I receiving additional training in calling potential clients. After calling, the
parents let their kids to join classes. My purpose is guarantee that course can
bring a good result for their children and help them maintain learning english.
2.1.6. In the sixth week (From March 28th, 2022 to April 3th, 2022)
I’m still supporting for foreign teachers in classes, translating record of work
from foreign teachers, writing messages send to parents after the lesson.
Beside, I prepared lesson for tutoring students in center with secondary,
primary 2 and starter levels.
2.2. New skills acquired and skills improved
2.2.1. Speaking and listenning skills
As you all know, I learned 4 skills at Vinh University. The teachers often
practice their skills through listening to exercises, music, video but I have a
little chance to communicate with foreigners. When I became a teaching
assistant in Global Edu center I had more communication opportunities, I was
able to listen and understand the content that foreign teachers said to convey
to students. I feel more confident in my ability to speak English as well as learn
much more experience through lectures.
After the internship process had finished, perhaps my vocabularies
reached a new level. More importantly, I actualized that translation
competence was more and more quickly, efficiency every day. However, I
never would stop learning more to become a teacher. Moreover, that process
has provided me with the knowledge and skills that are needed for a real
teacher in the future.
After being a teaching assistant here, I realized that my English
pronunciation has improved and I use more English.
2.2.2. Soft skills

- Job skills are important ones, but beside this, to accomplish all the work in a
good way, soft skills gradually become an indispensable in the job as well as in
our life. The internship process brought to the opportunity to use my English
knowledge through communicating with foreign teachers and or work under
pressure skill. Although I had studied these skills in university but the
internship process helped me had opportunities to faced them to my work or
my life. Working in the environment with young students help me feel happy
and energetic. Working as a teaching assistant for foreign teachers helps me
become more confident in my ability to speak fluently in public.
- Communication skill
Clear communication skills will not only take your career in the right
direction but also help you land the job you want. In communication skill, I
tried to keep eye contact with each others because eye contact is important in
communication – look the person in the eye to indicate that you are focused on
the conversation. For example, If I want to explain information from foreign
teachers for students, I will look the students in their eye to make them more
focus on the lesson.. Communication skills are the most important in life,
especially in the educational environment. My communication skills have
improved every day because I talked to everyone in workplace (superiors,
colleagues, students).
+ Be a polite person:
The first thing you see at a polite person is they always say “thank you” to the
ones that helped them and say “sorry” when they make mistakes. A sincere
“thank
you” makes helpers feel happy and pleased to help you again. A sincere
apology
will mitigate others and make them forgive easier. For example, when I said
“thank
you” to a collaborator who told me some experiences in translation, she felt
happy
and helped me more afterwards.
A polite person listens carefully to other’s talk instead of interrupting. It is a
good way to express your respect to others. When someone is sharing
information
to you and they made mistakes, you should continue listening and give them
some
comments about it when they finish. They will feel pleasant, comfortable and
they
will highly appreciate your attitude.
+ Be a friendly person:

Everybody wants to communicate with friendly people because they look
approachable and easy to talk to. The first thing you should do to become a
friendly
person is always keep a natural smile on your face because the strength of
smile is
undeniable. Your smile will leave a good impression as well as warm feeling in
other’s mind and make them think you are ready to talk. The other tips for you
is
always show that you are happy to talk to them by listening carefully, making
relevant questions etc.
2.2.3. Basic computer skills
I used my basic skills of computer to perform many day to day tasks like
opening relative files and folders from different locations , searching in the
internet about document report information , typing , sending email internship
diary everyday on the weekend for supervisor , etc . I also knew way to learn
typing , keyboarding speed and not look at the keyboard typing ( will all of
fingers ) . This skills are really helpful for students in the future jobs.
Office package skills: I used computer for all my teaching online during
internship process so I got many experiences in office such as: writing message
and mail send to parents, using Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel to support
others.
Management technics: During sixth weeks of internship process, I gained
some priceless lessons about management techniques from working with the
manager, members in the company or under my supervisors guidance. There
are valuable experiences for me to find a good direction in the future.
2.2.4. Time Management
Time management skills include a variety of skills that will help you manage
your time well. For me, when I worked as a teaching assistant, I tried to
manage time to do all works reasonable. I prepared carefully before class begin
about 15 minutes and finished my task on time (1hour and 30 minutes for
kindergarten 1,2,3- 2 hours for Primary, secondary and foundation). To
manage effectively, I must concentrate on the work, hard working and try to
complete the deadline. We should determine what we should do first then
complete it. Therefore, I made a timetable for me in the internship process.

make sure that classes are settled on time as well as ending on time.
2.3. Classroom skills employed
I learned four basics English skills namely listening, speaking, reading and
writing at Foreign Languages Department, Vinh University. In addition, I

learned specialized subjects which are translation and interpreting. The
internship is a golden opportunity to apply them for a real professional work. I
worked as a Teaching Assistant, Customer Service Officer of the center, so the
main mission are contact and exchange student’s situations between teachers
and parents. During the internship time, I usually talk to teachers to
understand clearly about my students through email as well as communicate
directly. Thanks to English skills that I studied, I can communicate effectively
to teacher. Since then, I can give answers for parent’s feedbacks.
Communication skill is the main technique I used in my work. After calling,
the parents let their kids to join classes. My purpose is guarantee that course
can bring a good result for their children and help them maintain learning
English. So, the way that I talk to parents is very important, it must have
reliability and assurance. As a result, this is the most important skill I need for
my future job. I also had the opportunity to study with the foreign lectures or
teachers trained abroad. Moreover, I taught these classes has many young
students (4-5 years old), I must teach them with happiness and try to create
the atmosphere more attractive to make them excited to the lesson. When I
was second year student in Vinh University, I had learned Psychology subjects,
some knowledge of this subject help me teaching young students effectively.
Last but not least, another skill I apply for my internship is team-work skill.
Working in group also taught me other things which are patience, politeness,
and respect.
Every day I had many classes with different levels, I will have my own
management to control and work as effectively as possible. For kindergarten
levels, I created a fun atmosphere, joined them in learning and playing
activities. For the starter classes I would encourage them to write and
memorize basic information. Also, from primary level up, I was strictly check
more exercises as well as motivate my children to do more homework.
2.4. Working style
In internship time in Global, I learned more a about a professional work, and it
is a good preparation for me to get a good job after graduation. The first thing I
have learned is punctuality. In internship time, I worked as a Teaching
Assistant (TA) so any when center wanted me to came, I had to come on time.
When I received a data with deadline, I had to finish it on time. It is not only
about punctuality but also responsibility. Another thing I learned is working
attitude. I was an intern of Global so I had to respect Director, staff and also
other interns. I had to accept my faults and fixed them if I was criticized for

making mistakes. Beside, being a TA, I must communicate with many people.
During that time, I learnt the way to communicate effectively.
2.5. Lesson learned
Six weeks of internship in Global Edu International English Center –
Vinh ,was the only pre-professional work I have ever had in my life. Under the
wonderful guidance of my supervisor and the Center Management, the
internship time taught me many valuable lessons not only about knowledge
but also experiences.
First of all, you should be independent and hard-working. The learning
environment of University is completely different from the one of a
professional job. Actually, at University, you can ask friends or teachers for bits
of help whenever you got trouble, but here you have to face and deal with the
trouble by myself without helps. Challenges and difficulties are unavoidable in
professional work, but they also help you improve your skills and perfect
yourself.
Moreover, being hard-working is an indispensable feature to make you be
successful. At school, if you feel bored, you can skip class and takes rest. In a
real working environment, your laziness and irresponsibility will make you
lose the trust of your boss and you could be fired.
The second lesson is punctuality. Your act shows your personality so being on
time shows that you are a responsible person. When you receive a mission
with a deadline, you should finish it because being late in a professional
working environment is unacceptable.
In the past, I was not good at communication because I do not know how to
start a conversation and lead them to follow my talk. I tried to practice every
day, with my friends, my colleagues, my students.
During that time, I learnt the way to communicate effectively
2.6. Problems encountered
In sixth weeks internship at Global English Centre, I worked in a new
environment. It is not similar to university one where you only learn, meet
friends, do not need to suffer from work pressure. Working environment
means you have to comply all regulations in the company , or you must finish
list of mission that the director assigned before. I am last year students ,
perhaps I have basic knowledge, but experience is more important than all
things. On the first day, I was really stressed and worried. I could not imagine
what and how I can complete my duties because I thought there are many new
things that I have not faced before.

The second difficulty that I have to face is communication with others
teacher. This is the first time I have worked in a lot of foreigners. Because of
this reason, I always try to learn something new on the internet to cultivate
new words, practice speaking more fluently and listening carefully.
Third, because the tutor works from 5 pm to nearly 10 pm, my living habits
are almost turned upside down.
Fourth, when I first started in classes, I had to adapt to the different teaching
styles of each teacher so that I could coordinate with them to do well. This
makes me change the habit of doing existing things
Moreover, I am just a student . I have not graduated . So, lack of experience is
inevitable. I found myself lacking experience in communication , as well as the
behavior and resolve some situation during my internship . Therefore in the
process of working, I usually made mistakes.
However, from these mistakes, I felt more mature. In sum up, although there
are many problems that I have to overcome in real life, this is mature. Many
opportunities for me to gained experience, to learned usefully lessons in my
life. Truly speaking, internship duration is a memorable period to me.

CHAPTER III: CONCLUSION


In the period of international integration, English has become more and more
important. It is indispensable equipment for us to find a job, no one can get a
good job without English basic skills. English is the language of business. In a
globalized world, where money and trade flow across borders, a good
command of English is essential.
On the other hand, skillful laborers from other countries can go to Viet Nam to
find jobs, too. Therefore, I have to improve my skills, especially my English
skills to become a winner in job competitions. My time internship in Global Edu
International English Center gave me not only an unforgettable time but also a
lot of valuable experiences and necessary skills which are very useful in the
future job. The internship gave me an opportunity to apply what I have learned
into practice which helped me improve my knowledge and skills as much as
possible.

Working in a dynamic and professional environment helps me to created
good habits and get acquainted with the environment so that after graduating,
I will not be surprised by the actual working environment.
Furthermore, what I have learned was not only knowledge and English skills
but also social skills and soft skills such as event team-work skills,
communication skills, working style, etc. These social skills not only help me
become more confident but also help me have a chance to get a fascinating job
in the future.

CHAPTER IV: RECOMMENDATION


To be honest, for me, I am always proud of being a student at the Foreign
Languages Department, Vinh University. In my opinion, the training program
of the department is nearly perfect, students are given good opportunities to
widen knowledge as well as apply them into practice. Students not only learn
English but also have a chance to experience wonderful social activities to
show abilities and develop them.
However, it also has some disadvantages that make students meet
difficulties, so I express some recommendations as follows:
First of all, although there are many opportunities for students to make the
presentation and express their ideas in front of people to improve speaking
skills in class, it is not enough because almost all topics students discuss, and

talk is too theoretical. Lecturers should hold some practical activities like
problem-solving to help them have more experiences and be ready when they
are in the situation. Another problem is there are always more quiet students
than speakers in class. I found that there are students always making a
presentation but there are students never making a semester. Lecturers should
find a way to encourage everyone, make them feel free, and please express
personal ideas in front of many people.
Secondly, I found some subjects are too theoretical and difficult to
understand such as contrastive linguistics. It makes students feel bored and
lose interest. Therefore, lecturers should find some interesting and easy
understanding methods in teaching to make students be interested in lectures
and focus on studying. For students of the following courses, knowledge and
careers skills is the main factor deciding if you get a job or not so you should
first study hard to gain your knowledge and improve your English skills every
day. Besides, you should find yourself what is your passion and follow it
because English is just a piece of equipment to help you achieve your dream.
Moreover, you should balance time for different activities and participate in
outstanding outdoor activities of the department to relax and even develop
your social skills.
Finally, you should consider carefully when you chose a place for an
internship because it will be the place where you have the very first
experiences of the first official professional work. It is where you first apply
what you have learned into serious work and it is very important and
memorable. For Vinh University, Foreign Languages Department is not as big
as the Law Department or Economic Department, but it is one of the most
dynamic and wonderful departments at Vinh University. Therefore, I hope that
officers of Vinh University can give the Department more interest like caring
more about the clubs of the Department which are English Speaking Zone club
(ESZ), English Learning Assistance Club (ELAC) in order to make the
Department, as well as Vinh University, develop more and more.
