Welcome to our first Spotlight - Miro for Beginners!

My name is Annika, and I

am a Learning Experience Designer here at Miro, and when I first started
using Miro, I realized it felt pretty different than other tools I've used before!
Luckily, I remembered a colleague telling me about the Learning Center I
could access directly from the board to learn the basics of getting started.

In this beginner guide, I'll share some tips I've learned along the way that will help you kick off your
Miro journey, like:
what features and tools are located where on the board,
how to navigate with ease,
and how to create or access a new Miro board

What is Miro?

The Miro platform brings teams and people together, no matter where they are in the world
(and as long as they have an internet connection). The beauty of Miro is the platform isn't
just for collaborative work - you can also use the platform on your own! I use Miro to help
me track my tasks, brainstorm personal goals, and for quick visual note-taking.

Creating or accessing a new Miro board

Let's kick off your Miro Journey: Are you Collaborating with others or Riding Solo?

Collaborating with others: When a board is

shared with you for the first time, you'll receive an
email notifying you that you have been invited to
the board. The board invite notification will also
appear in your Miro feed. From your Miro
dashboard, you can select the bell icon in the
upper right hand-corner to open your Feed.

Riding solo: You can create a new board

from your Miro dashboard by selecting "+
New Board"!
Navigation Basics

When you arrive on the Miro board Auto-switch navigation is set by default so that you are able to use
either a mouse or a trackpad. Open your board settings to select a preferred device.

Mouse - Navigating the Miro board with a mouse allows you to zoom in and out of board
content using the scroll wheel and move around the board by right clicking and dragging
your cursor.

Trackpad - Navigating the Miro board with your trackpad allows you to pinch to zoom in and
out and slide two fingers on the trackpad to move around the board.

Board Menus Overview

Miro has over a dozen features and tools to help you create content. Let's start in the upper
