Main idea sentence: The first Non-Stop solo transatlantic flight


began when Spirit of St. Louis took off from Roosevelt field, New
York city, at 7:57 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, on May 20, 1927,
with Charles Lindbergh’s as the pilot.
1. The pilot was flying without a safety parachute or radio
communication.

2. The flight from New York to France covered 3,600 miles in 33


hours, passing through Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Ireland.

3. At 10:22 p.m. On May 21, the plane landed at Le Bourget


Airport in Paris, France.
4. Charles Lindbergh was received by 100,000, whom he
greeted from the plane.

5. He received a medal in honor of being the first person to


complete a non-stop solo transatlantic flight.

6. The newspaper " The New York Times " named him a
National Hero and a Symbol of Aviation.
