Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following
vacancies available for immediate filling at Kireka Health Centre III.

1. Background about the committee and the facility)


Kireka SDA Health Center III is a private not for profit health facility based on the Seventh-day
faith, based on Kireka Hill near the Central Uganda Conference Headquarters. The facility
currently offers both clinical and community health care services to the communities of Kireka,
and neighboring areas as well as a referral facility for the lower level health units and clinics in
the area.

In order to strengthen its capacity to deliver services to people under its jurisdiction, Kireka SDA
H/C III wishes to recruit motivated and competent individuals to fill vacancies indicated below: -

Job Title : Accountant (1 Position)


Vacancy Code : KAHC 001
Terms : CONTRACT
Work schedule: Full time

Job summary:
To lead the finance team in the recording, maintenance, reporting, management of the facility
financial resources, advise management and Facility Health Unit Management Committee on all
matters regarding financial position and utilization thereof.

Qualifications and competences:


 Diploma in Accounting (Commerce, Business Administration, Financial Management or
Accounting) from a recognized institution or its equivalent.
 Competence in QuickBooks, Tally, and other common accounting packages.
 Competence in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power Point
 Strong analytical & interpersonal.
 Ability to work with minimal supervision.
 Evidence of working experience of 1-2 years is an added advantage.

Job Title : Enrolled Nurse (1 Position)

Work schedule: Full time

Job summary:
The Enrolled nurse will be responsible for ensuring delivery of high quality and efficient nursing services
to clients at the health facility, ensuring that high standards are adhered to in assessments, handling of
emergencies, treatment and administration of medicines and waste management according to the Uganda
Ministry of Health guidelines

Qualifications and Experience:


 The applicant must have Enrolled Nursing Certificate/diploma from a recognized
Institution.
 Experience in managing clinics, patients, children, pregnant women and provide quality
nursing care services and public health interventions to the patients.
 Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
 Experience in planning, organizing and coordinating health activities.
 Experience in Health Management Information System.
 At least two years of related work experience

Job Title : Enrolled Midwife (2 Position)

General job summary:


The Enrolled midwife will be responsible for ensuring delivery of high quality and efficient maternal-
child health related services to clients at the health facility, ensuring that high standards are adhered to in
assessments, handling of emergencies, treatment and administration of medicines and waste management
according to the Uganda Ministry of Health guidelines including providing of day to day midwifery
nursing care service to patients

Qualifications and Experience:

 Must have enrolled midwifery certificate or its equivalent


 Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives council, with a valid annual
practicing license.
 Relevant work experience of two years is essential.
 Be able to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Title : Counsellor (1 Position)

Work schedule: Full time

General job summary:


The Counselor will provide comprehensive counseling services to patients including
patients in the ART & TB Clinics, engage community health educations and providing youth
friendly services.

Qualifications and Experience:


 A bachelor’s degree in the fields of; Social work, Counselling, Psychology or Guidance
and Counselling.
 At least 2-years’ of working experience in a similar job;
 A clear and concise understanding of the psychosocial issues relating to health and illness
 Good communication, team building, innovative skills
 A certificate, knowledge and experience in HIV/AIDS care issues is an added
advantage.

Job Title : Security guard (1 Position)

Work schedule: Full time

General job summary:


Guard and patrol the health facility premises to protect lives of employees and patients
and property against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity.

Qualifications & Experience:


 O’Level Certificate & must have at least a credit in Mathematics and English at
ordinary level.
 A level certificate is added advantage.
 Background of Security training is preferred
 Experience in Security Management for a minimum of two (02) years.

Job Title : Janitor/Chef (2 Position)


Vacancy Code: KAHC 006
Terms: CONTRACT
Work schedule: Full time

Job summary:
The janitor is primarily responsible for coordinating and overseeing all janitorial needs of
the facility and ensuring the timely preparation of staff meals.

Qualifications & Experience:


 Should hold at least a minimum of a PLE Results Slip.
 Holder of O’ Level certificates will have an added advantage
 Two years’ experience as a Janitor/chef in a busy work environment.
 Thorough knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment utilization.
 Work independently and contribute to overall operations of the health facility.
 Physical: This position requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, sitting,
standing, walking, pushing/pulling, handling objects (manual dexterity), reaching above
shoulder level, using fine finger movements and lifting/carrying heavy loads.
