Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of
national Standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International
Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Esch member
body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, govern-
mental and non-governmental, in Iiaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
Users should note that all International Standards undergo ISO 8560:1986
revision from time to time

INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ISO 8560-1986 (E)
This International Standard lays down rules for the represen- 4.2.5 Multimodular sizes : 10 x 3M,5 x 6M
tation of modular sizes, lines and grids on construction draw-
ings. The basic module M is 100 mm (sec ISO 1006).
4.2.6 Non-modular, if needed : M
Generally, modular sizes should be used on design drawings.
Construction and work sizes should be used on production
drawings.
5 Representation of modular lines and sizes
Modular sizes, lines and grids make the planning and design
work easier. Multimodular grids may be added, to a limited 5.1 Modular and multimodular lines shall be drawn using a

struction for orientation and location.iTeh STANDARD PREVIEW continuous line (sec figure 1). The lowest level shall be drawn
using a continuous thin line.

Drawings with modular sizes shall be executed in accordance
with ISO 128 and ISO 2585. If necessary, the drawings should
have a note indicating that modular sizes are being used. Figure 3
4.2 The designations of modular sizes are as follows. 5.5 Terminations for the size of a modular zone shall be the
same as for Single sizes, as specified in ISO 2585 (sec figure 5).

6.2 Modular grids with different line intervals which are superimposed may be clarified by using a thin line for the smallest interval, a
thick line for the next largest interval, etc. (see figure 6).
