 sing » sings
 run » runs
 write » writes
 sit » sits
 sleep » sleeps
 open » opens

2) When the verb ends in -o, -s, -sh, -ch, -x ou -z we add -es:

 go » goes
 do » does
 miss » misses
 wash » washes
 watch » watches
 fix » fixes
 buzz » buzzes

Rule 3

3) If the verb ends in a consonant and ‘y’ – for example try, reply, hurry, cry –
We change the Y and add ‘-ies‘. Veja,

 try » tries
 reply » replies
 hurry » hurries
 cry » cries

* It doesn’t happen when the verb ends in vowel and y:

 stay » stays
 play » plays
 pray » prays
Regra 4

There are some irregular verbs, that they change completely when we talk
about third person of singular.

For example:

 have » has

* NEGATIVE FORM, in the negative form we need to use auxiliaries,

DON’T or DOESN’T.
She doesn’t eat chocolate. (quando usamos o auxiliar doesn’t o verbo
retorna para a sua forma normal, pois o doesn’t já demonstra que é
terceira pessoa).
I don’t drink beer. (Apenas coloco o auxiliar antes do verbo para
demonstrar que se trata de uma negação).

* INTERROGATIVE FORM, in the interrogative form we also need to use

auxiliaries, DO or Does.
Does he play soccer? (Acontece a mesma situação, se usamos o auxiliar
does, o verbo não necessita de “s”).
Do you go to school? (Apenas coloco o auxiliar na frente do sujeito).
