1. Purpose

This Technical Note describes the procedure of adjusting the Vacuum levels properly.
NOTE: Before begin this activity it is very important to make sure that all inks were shaken at
least 15 minutes before being placed inside the bottle and that the stirrer systems are working
properly.
The procedure is intended for qualified Dip-Tech technicians and operators.
This procedure comprises the following steps:
 Adjusting the Vacuum levels, as described on page 2

1. Adjust vacuum gages to the "Work Around" level according the following list:

Note: The “work around” values may differ in each Machine.


Machine type Vacuum value
AR 54-60
16/24 Pro 68-80
Novo 34-40

2. Go to "Configuration Editor" window, under “INK” tab; unmark the option "Purge at
the start of print", click "OK" and exit this window.

3. Enter the "PLC Services" and perform "Purge".

4. Choose any color and Start lowering manually the vacuum value gradually until you
see that the Print Heads starts to leak.

5. Take the vacuum level back up a little bit, till it seems that the leaking has stopped.
(Only by feeling, ignore the value at the digital Gauge display).

6. Perform “purge” and an “All nozzles test”.


7. Wait 2 minutes and perform “All nozzles test” once again.
8. If the nozzles test result is Good, mark back the option "Purge at the start of print"
(step 2) and start to work normally.
9. If the nozzle test result is Not Good, raise the vacuum levels a bit higher and repeat
the steps 5-7.
