Palm On Pattern

Materials:
- Green yarn
- Pink yarn
- Yellow yarn
- A bit of orange yarn
- A bit of purple yarn
- Threads of dark green for the veins (optional)
- Thread of black and white yarn for the mouth
- Fiberfil plush stuffing
- Pieces of green and white felt for the eyes
- Sewing needle
- Yarn needle
- Hook Size 4, 4.5 or 5 mm depending on the size of your yarn
- Scissors
READ BEFORE YOU START:
The final size of your plush depends on the yarn you bought and the tension you use
when you crochet. My Palmon is 18’’ high and 8’’ wide.
Please take 2 min to read the pattern once so you don’t miss anything.
You should read the Legend for the different stitches at the bottom of the pattern
before you start.
Since it is easy to get confuse at the end of each round and counting all the stitches for
each round, I always use a stitch maker. They sell them in most stores but I usually use
a thread of 10cm long of a flashy yarn color, like orange or yellow. It’s a lot easier to
keep track of the end of your round. As shown on the picture.
BODY:
With green yarn
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: *2 sc in each sc* around (12)
Rnd 3: *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc* around (18)
Rnd 4: *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc* around (24)
Rnd 8-15: *sc in each sc* around (42)
Rnd 16: *sc in next 5 sc, dec over next 2 sc* around (36)
F/O AND leave a long tail to sew to the head later. Add stuffing to finish the shaping.
Head:
With green yarn
Rnd 5: *sc in each sc* around (27)
Rnd 10: *sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc * around (54)
Rnd 12: *sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc * around (63)
Rnd 13-18 *sc in each sc* around (63)
Rnd 27: *sc in next sc, dec over next 2 sc* around (18)
Rnd 28: * sc in next sc, dec over next 2 sc* around (12)
Rnd 29: * dec over next 2 sc* around (6)
F/O AND leave a small tail. Add any stuffing needed to finish the shaping and weave the
remaining tail thread through the final round, pull gently to close up the small opening.
Secure and weave in the tail.
Legs (make 2):
With green yarn
Rnd 5: *sc in each sc BUT in back loops only* around (24)
F/O, stuff AND leave a tail to sew to body later.
Legs part 2:
With green yarn
We will now work on the front loops of Round 5 of the legs.
Start with a sc in the first front loop of the round, hdc in the same stitch as the sc, dc
in the next sc, chain 1, hdc in the same stitch as the dc, slip stitch in the next 2 sc. And
again sc and a hdc in the next stitch / dc, chain 1 and hdc in the next stitch / Repeat
again until the last stitch. It should give you 6 ‘’toes’’.
Arms (make 2):
With green yarn
Rnd 21: *sc in next sc, dec over next 2 sc* around (12)
F/O and leave a tail to sew to body later. Stuff the arms just a little bit.
Claws (make 6):

With purple yarn
F/O, leave a tail to sew to arms later. Stuff a little.
Tail:
With green yarn
F/O and leave a tail to sew to body later.
Petals first version(make 2):
With pink yarn
Rnd 7: sc in each sc* around (16)
Rnd 9-10: sc in each sc* around (20)
F/O and leave a tail of about 20cm to sew to head later.
Petals second version(make 3):

With pink yarn
F/O and leave a tail of about 20cm to sew to head later.
Yellow patches (make 5):

With yellow yarn
Row 1: chain 5, turn sc in second from chain and
sc in the next 2 sc (4)
Row 2-3: Ch 1, turn, sc in all sc of the row (4)
Row 4: ch 2, turn, dc AND sc in the first sc of the row,
sc, dc, sc in the next stitch, sc, dc in the last sc of the row (9)
F/O and leave a tail of about 20cm to sew to petals later.
Pistil part 1 (make 1):

With yellow yarn
Rnd 4: sc in the back loop only for this round
*sc in each sc* around (18)
F/O and leave a tail to sew to head later.
Pistil part 2 (make 1):

With orange yarn
Change to yellow yarn
F/O and leave a small tail to sew to steam part 1 later.
FINAL ASSEMBLY:
You can pin all parts together before you begin to sew them, to make
certain all parts are the way you like and in the position you prefer. Add all
the stuffing needed before sewing each part.
Begin by sewing the head and the legs to the body.
Sew the claws to the arms. Embroid veins on the arms like shown with a
long thread of lighter green yarn if you some or the same green as the
body is fine too.
Sew the arms and tail to the body.
Sew the pistil part 1 on the head.

Sew the yellow patch on the pink petals. Add a bit of stuffing and the base
of each petal to make them stand firm when we sew them on later.
Sew the petals to all around the pistil part 1.

Form a loop with the end of the pistil part 2 to shape it as shown. To make
it sew the top to the middle of the pistil.
Sew the pistil part 2 to the top of pistil part 1.

Now we do the little pistils things at the base of pistil part 2. To do that
we will crochet 5 different chain around pistils part 2 on pistil part 1.

For the eyes I used iron-on fabric with fabric pens, but you can also use
felt pieces.
Embroid the month with a long thread of black yarn.

And finally embroid the teeth with a long thread of white yarn.
DONE!!!!! Congratulations your Palmon is finished!
