Solar energy is the key to our future. If we do not use it, our planet will not survive. We do not have
enough resources on Earth to supply our energy needs. We are slowly using solar energy more. Most places
you go in the world today you can see solar panels on people’s houses. I hope that in the future, all houses will
use solar power. It’s so simple. In fact, it’s free. All you have to do is pay for the solar panels and some other
equipment, and then you have free energy. Research into solar energy is still in its early days. I think in the
future it will be everywhere. We’ll be able to buy solar panels from our local DIY store. I also think we’ll be

the answer sheet.
Tornadoes are giant rotating columns of air. They form in thunderstorms when there is a great difference in
the temperature and humidity of the lower and upper atmosphere. They can be very dangerous and destructive.
There are different varieties of tornadoes. They can be very big or small. Some tornadoes are only a few feet
across and others can travel across an entire state. Tornadoes stretch from the ground high into the sky. Usually,
people rate them from F0 to F5, F5 being the most dangerous with wind speeds of around 261-318 miles per
hour. They are a very violent force of nature and can lay whole towns completely flat.
Tornadoes can happen all over the world but a lot of them happen in the central United States in a region
called Tornado Alley. Tornado Alley is made up of the low, flat states of the central United States between the
Rocky Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains. Even though Tornado Alley is the most common place for
tornadoes, the deadliest recorded tornado was in Bangladesh in 1989 and killed around 1,300 people. Recently,
massive tornadoes destroyed large parts of Alabama in the United States, a state that does not usually have
tornadoes.

fish! This will cause a lot of problems for the whole planet.
Firstly, the report showed that we are making twenty times more plastic than we were making 50 years ago.
However, only 5% of these plastics are recycled, so this means that a lot is thrown away. Secondly, the report
said that every year 8 million tons of plastic pollution goes into the ocean. This is the same as putting one
rubbish lorry of plastic into the ocean every minute. Small pieces of plastic can kill fish and larger pieces of
plastic are dangerous for turtles and seals.
This report is important because it shows how serious the plastic problem is. It told businesses and governments
to work together to protect the oceans. It said that in the future they should only use plastics that can be recycled,
and it said that plastic should never end up in the sea as rubbish.
