Should all schools practice inclusive education?

Inclusive education focuses on giving people equal rights and opportunities despite of
their differences. The right question here is not whether we are ready to include them, the right
question here is whether we are willing to be humane and open-minded. In today's societal
settings, where the issues of discrimination and bullying are rampant, what are the ways we can
do to be able to pull off this kind of education and what benefits will it provide if we do it so.

It is ought to be implemented because of the good things it can offer to all the children.
This type of education let all children learn, contribute and participate in all aspects within the
school. No child will be left out whatever age, gender, disability, or learning needs. Inclusive
systems can be an instrument in changing discriminatory attitudes. Schools provide the context
for a child’s first relationship with the world outside their families, enabling the development of
social life. Respect and understanding grow when students of diverse abilities and backgrounds
play, socialize, and learn together (Open Society Foundations, 2019). For instance, social
relationships and interactions for these children will allow them to get to know each other and so
the children will learn to appreciate the differences they have. Inclusive education can also
provide greater opportunities for learning and leadership. The students can now learn from the
lesson how to help each other. Socialization in the school allows the students to learn
communication skills and interaction skills from each other (k12academics, 2004). Through
helping those children with special needs, normal students can enhance their skills in teaching
and leading others. While the ones who will benefit the most here were the physically and
mentally impaired children. They can both be role models to each other, regular students can
serve as role models by offering acceptance and patience, while disabled children will serve as a
good example of people with an eagerness to learn and to live normally. Last among the
examples of the good things that inclusive education can bring is that it can help children to have
a better sense of community living once they became an adult. Having this is especially helpful
when they graduate high school, as that will improve community living, further education, and
competitive employment (Mom in Motion, 2019). In addition, being exposed and having
experience in school with students of varied abilities, backgrounds, interests, etc. will help you to
grow and understand the world around you besides it's not just at school that you will meet
people like them. I’m not saying that there won’t be any problems despite the good things that
inclusive education can offer. I am aware that not all people were open-minded about this. I am
also afraid of the possible problems that people with disabilities or differences may experience
with other students but at least we can do something about it. As they say, a child's behavior
reflects their parents' parenting. Good parental guidance molds children to be the best version of
their selves, it can be shown physically, mentally, or morally. Parents play an important role in
making inclusive education a success because if they can teach their children to treat people
equally right, discrimination and bullying won’t be visible. Proper guidance of the teacher is also
needed when this type of education has been applied for, they are the ones who will look upon
the children throughout the whole day in school. They need to teach their students what is
morally right and wrong. They must enlighten the children that they should not judge the kids
with disabilities, hence, treat them right and socialize with them as they normally do with other
children. Educating the students gently and in appropriate manner is the best way in developing
their moral standards. Furthermore, School administrators can help in guiding both the teachers
and students, the administration will assure the comfort of the students and the teachers as well.

In conclusion, to implement the inclusive education and reap its benefits, we need the
help of everyone. If we could just open our hearts and minds, we could attain a wonderful place
where people, disabled or not, are given equal opportunities whether in school, work, anywhere.
Appreciation for individual differences is what we need the most. Children at young age should
know that everyone is different on their own, but it's the humanity that connects us all because
there is just one world; it is the world we all live in, and we need to account for how we exist as
part of it. Let us build a society where differences of each individual are appreciated and valued.
