1. Explain the major subfields of psychology.

Industrial-organizational psychology

This is the branch of psychological principles to work place issues. psychological area seeks to improve
productivity and efficiency in the work place while maximizing the well-being of employee. It includes area
such as human factor, the human factor focus on human error, ergonomics, human capability and it's goal is
to improve how people interact with.

Personality psychology

Is the branch of psychology that focuses on the a study of thought patterns, feelings and behaviors that make
each individual unique. Classic theories of personality include Frend's psychoanalytic theory of personality and
Erikson's theory of psychosocial development.

personality psychologist might look at how different factors (such as genetics, parenting and social experience)
influence personality development and change

Forensic psychology

This branch deals with issues related to psychology and law. Those who work in this branch apply
psychological principles to legal issues. This may involve studying criminal behavior and treatment or making
direct in the court system. Forensic psychologist perform a wide variety of duties, including providing
testimony in court cases, assessing children in suspect child abuse cases and evaluating the mental
competence of criminal suspects

Experimental psychology

Is the psychological area that utilizes scientific methods to search the brain and behavior. Many of the
technique are also used in other psychology area to study everything from childhood development to social
issue. The methods used in this type include experiments, correlational studies, case studies and naturalistic
observation

Biological Psychology

This branch concerns with the relationship between mind and body. For example psychologist might
investigate the electrical activity in the brain associated with particular behavior, thought or emotion

Developmental Psychology

This concern with the human development and the factors that shape behavior from birth to old age. They
might study a specific ability such as how language develops in children or a particular of life such as infancy.
Social Psychology

This seeks to understand and explain social behavior that including social interaction, perception, Leadership
and social influence and decision making.

Educational Psychology

This concerned with schools, teaching issues and student concerns educational psychology often study how
student behave. They apso work directly with parents, teachers and administrator to improve student
outcome.

Consumer Psychology

It is attached in treating client in mental distress who may be experiencing a wide variety of psychological
system by improving the client's social and emotional health as well as addressing concerns about health,
work, family.
