Organization needs people, and people need organization

Organization and people are important matters in a society as the organization

drive economic stability and growth by providing valuable services, products, and taxes

that directly contribute to the health of the society. But an organization would only

operate if there are qualified people who will manage it and people need a job from an

organization to get their needs. Therefore, organization and people are connected to

each other.

Organizations is a planned coordination of people and their activities to achieve

those goals by the division of labor. As we all know, organizations are usually

composed of distinct departments such as production, research and development,

sales, marketing, human resources, and accounting or finance. All mentioned

departments need people who are expert in their fields and can achieve the kind of goal

and objectives that the organization has. It has been observed that in every organization

they have main goal, which is the profit maximization and in order to obtain it, people

who are the employees or workers plays an important role in achieving it as they are the

ones who perform creative and innovative ideas wherein if those people has collective

minds and work as a team, the goal will be achieved easily. For example, I worked as

an On-the-Job Training student in a financial company before. I observed that the

company has an everyday goal for every employee in their Sales Department, which is

to call at least fifty clients in order for the Admin Department to have high number of

client’s application to be processed to their desired bank where they want to obtain a

credit card. The higher the number of processed applications of the clients, the higher

the profit of company has. That is how the company achieved to maximize their profit. In
the context of people need organization, people need organization to earn money to

change their lifestyle. As people are naturally have desires and wants, we look for

something that could make us to fulfill these things and the organization could help us

with that matter. According to Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist, and the

author of Hierarchy of Needs Theory. Maslow’s theory states that our actions are

motivated by psychological needs. The said theory is represented by pyramid of needs

wherein our most basic needs is at the bottom and more complex needs is at the top. In

response to our needs, we tend to look and apply for a job in an organization. In that

case, when our basic needs are fulfilled, we will now seek for more than the basic need

as indicated in the Maslow’s theory. For example, I had a friend who wants to apply for

a job as she wants to buy the things that she wants. Now that she had her job and

fulfilled her wants because of her salary from working, she seeks for more things

greater than the things that she already fulfilled. She seeks for things like more

expensive gadgets, branded clothes, and other things that is under the more complex

needs. From my friend’s experience, we can say that people need organization.

In conclusion, organization and people are mutually interdependent on each

other. Without people, the organization cannot achieve their goals. People without

organization, they cannot fulfill their needs and desires. Therefore, both the organization

and people have benefit to each other to obtain their kind of needs to fulfill their kind of

goals.
