STAAR Testing/Non-Testing Plan


Dallas ISD Guideline:
“This waiver allows the district or charter school to modify the schedule of classes for students who
are not being tested to report to and attend school after the state assessment testing period has
ended, therefore reducing the interruptions during the testing period. Students who are not being
tested must still meet the maximum 2-through-4 hour requirement for funding (see SAAH 3.6.6
Attendance Accounting during Testing Days).”

Testing Students
● Students will report to school and report directly to their testing room.
● The testing environment will remain secure until the close of the testing period,
● Once the testing environment is no longer secure, we will remain with our testing teachers.

STUDENTS CAN DO STUDENTS CANNOT DO

● Watch a PG-13 or lower rated movie ● Walk the halls


● Complete brain teasers ● Visit different classrooms
● Complete stress/anxiety free activities ● Call parents to indicate they are finished
such as coloring, word search puzzles, testing and can be picked up
etc. ● Be extremely loud and disruptive
● Listen to music or explore social media ● Bring a video game console or a play a
on their own devices video game from a video game console
● Take a nap ● Leave classrooms messy from snack
● Play games on their phone trash

Non-Testing Students Who Stay Home


● Students will not report to school.
● Students will complete the Attendance Quiz posted in the teacher’s Google Classroom.
● Students will engage in teacher selected assignments through Google Classroom, ClassKick,
or any other educational platform selected.

Non-Testing Students Who Report to School


● Students will report to the gym.
