Hydraulic Power Control Unit
Product features
Power: HPU transforms electric energy
supplied to pump motors, into the
hydraulic pressure needed for valve
operation. Furthermore, it ensures oil
cleanliness and temperature control
Control: hydraulic power (pressurized
oil) is stored in the accumulators, and
directed to the hydraulic cylinder to
change the slide valve disc position. This
position can be changed automatically
(DCS and PLC control system) or
manually by the field operator.

Actuators

Linear actuator

Linear actuator
The linear actuator is provide in a wide range of strokes and thrusts. It may
be equipped with redundant position transmitters ( up to 4) and valve open
and closed limit switches. The emergency hand-wheel may be easily
engaged in any position and an optional air motor will allow a fast valve
stroke in case of availability of plant air. The solid and accessible design is
intended to allow easy maintenance during turnarounds.

Rotary actuator
The quarter-turn rotating actuator has been designed for high velocity
applications (0.4s and less for a full opening or closing cycle). The special
design is based on double hinges allowing constant performance without
reductions in precision typically found in gear based designs. Rotary actuator

Catofin® process
Product features
The Catofin® dehydrogenation process is a reliable, proven route for the production of isobutylene, propylene
or amylenes from isobutane, propane of isopentanes respectively. Lummus technology has exclusive
worldwide licensing rights to the technology. The propylene worldwide demand growth is creating the
necessary to build on purpose plants for propylene production, and a constant flow of new Catofin projects is
expected in the next years.

The Lummus Catofin reactor system consists of a series of identical reactors, usually 4 to 10. The reactors
operate in batch mode, and each one is normally controlled by means of «Wedge within Wedge» valves
