INTRODUCTION

International relations is a complex and


multidisciplinary field that studies the interactions
between and among states, as well as the workings
of the international system as a whole.
This assignment aims to explore the key trends and
developments in international relations, including
the major theories of regional integrations and
globalization, and the contemporary global issues
such as the Israel-Palestine war and Ukraine-Russia
war. Additionally, the assignment will focus on
Ethiopia's foreign policy in securing national
interest, which has been shaped by the country's
internal political and economic objectives, including
rapid economic development, democratization, and
counter-radicalization.
Ethiopia has become a major power in the Horn of
Africa, and its foreign policy has been considered a
stabilizing force in the region. The country has
constructed railways, roads, and electricity to
connect with Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti,
Somalia, and Eritrea, emphasizing sustained
economic development, promotion of democracy,
and peace as the main objectives in the region and
elsewhere. This assignment will provide insights
into the complex dynamics of global politics and the
role of various actors in shaping the world's
landscape.
