Questions to Ponder:

A. Examine the vision and mission statements of Samsung and determine its key
components.

Samsung’s vision statement is to “Inspire the world with our

innovative technologies, products and design that enrich people’s lives
and contribute to social prosperity by creating a new future”. The key
components of its vision statement revolves around the areas of innovation,
making live’s better, and creating new markets. It’s commitment to remain as
the digital leader has been a contributor to their m, improvements and
innovations that will eventually lead to the enrichment of human well-being.
On the other hand, it’s mission statement “We will devote our human
resources and technology to create superior products and services,
thereby contributing to a better global society” has highlighted their role
for the betterment of global society. These two statements collaboratively
pertains to the role of their company, as the leading digital space in the society.
Through continuous innovation with the help of their human resources, they
have set their eyes upon the creation of technological products that are of
higher quality, not just for the betterment of the company alone, but the people
around the globe as a whole.

B. Based on the case, do you have any recommendations for the improvement of vision-
mission statements of Samsung?

The commitment of Samsung to its customers and stakeholders is

clearly demonstrated on how they constructed their vision and mission
statement. As a student, my recommendation for the improvement of these
guiding statements would revolve around including other plans or their impact
on the different aspects such as on their concrete plans for nature conservation
and other aspects that are unnoticed by the majority. But as a whole, their
statements were already an excellent representation of who and what they are
as a company and what they strive for.

C. How does the vision and mission statements of Samsung influence their repositioning
in the industry?

Like any other companies and organization, the vision and mission
statement plays a significant role in creating its branding and identity, it also
serves as a guide on what decisions to make, and strategies to pursue. To assert

their leadership in the industry, they highlight their continuous efforts in

innovations, producing high quality technology. And to show that they are
more than just a business for profit, they are also envisioning, as one of its
mission also, to champion for making lives better and for communities to
thrive as well. It shows that they are dynamic in their operations, and through
their vision and mission statements, they have set their focus on clear goals
and the direction of the company and their responsibility to its customers,
nature and global community as a whole. These things greatly contributes to
what and where they are right now in the industry.

D. How could Samsung thrive in the dynamic and competitive business industry? Do
they need to straighten their vision and mission statements?

Success in the dynamic and competitive business world requires

adaptability, creativity, strategic planning, and a focus on the needs of the
client. As the market is rapidly changing its preferences, and the digital
industry is also adapting to these rapid changes, Samsung may need to keep on
strategizing innovative actions that not only improve their technology, but can
also fulfill their roles to the global community they envision to help in making
their lives better. They may also set strategies in creating an impact not just in
technology, the company and the people, but also to our nature. To increase
customer loyalty, they must also incorporate in their innovation the feedbacks
of their customers and stakeholders as well as diversification of their current
market, making an avenue for growth and new opportunities and in building
sustainability.
