3 DETAILS REQUIREMENTS AND TECHONICAL SPECIFICATIONS

3.1 Design of Protection Fence

3.1.1 The contractor shall visit the site with SEC representative and gather all required information for
the design such as (location of the fence, distances, no of columns needed, columns
height ...etc.).

3.1.2 The design documents of the protection fence shall include all design and construction details
and showing all the fence components details, also showing the time needed for construction.

3.1.3 The contractor shall submit the design documents to SEC for review and approval, and update
the design documents as per comments from SEC representative.

3.1.4 The contractor shall submit the design within (5 days) after receiving the service order.

3.2 Foundations

3.2.1 The foundation design shall be based on Contractor’s geotechnical findings, assessment of the
factual geotechnical data, loads, environment conditions and durability requirements.

3.2.2 Anchor Bolts shall be used to support the columns.

3.2.3 Anchor bolts shall be galvanized up to the full length. Anchor bolts shall be threaded at the top
end, a distance sufficient to provide for levelling or raking of the structure. Each anchor bolt
shall include three (3) heavy hex nuts, two nuts above the base plate and one nut below the
base plate for levelling purposes. Only one length of anchor bolts shall be used on each pole.
Anchor bolts/clusters shall be plainly marked to indicate structure type, number, etc.

3.2.4 The design criteria, selection of foundation types and the design of the foundations shall be the
responsibility of Contractor and shall be fully justified by him to the satisfaction of the Company.
The foundation sizes in Figure No. 1 are given for Contractor information and guidance only.
The foundation sizes, piles sizes, rebar detail shall be designed and constructed as per
geotechnical investigation report and pole design.

3.2.5 The design of foundations shall be reviewed and approved by SEC before implementation.

3.3 Poles

3.3.1 The pole material should be conical galvanized steel.

3.3.2 The height of the pole shall be (30m-25-20m-15m-13m) depends on the location of the project.

3.3.3 The thickness of the steel of the poles shall be min. (4mm) for 15m columns and (5mm) for 25m
columns and (6mm) for 30m columns.

3.3.4 The distance between the poles shall be 10m.

3.3.5 Cable bracing must be use between all columns.

3.3.6 All poles shall be protected with a duplex system (galvanizing + painting). The minimum zinc
coating thickness in this case shall be 86 μm before painting.

3.3.7 Sloping pole dimension is (3m) and shall be fixed to the columns by bolts.

3.3.8 Stay (ANCHOR) wires and foundations shall be installed for columns at the end sides of the
fence, see Figure No. 2.

3.3.9 Locking device/cable shall be required to prevent Sloping pole from falling.

3.4 Wires, hooks, rings and tightening hook

3.4.1 The wire material it should be galvanized steel.

3.4.2 Thickness of the wires (5mm).

3.4.3 The rings material it should be galvanized steel and the diameter is 5cm.

3.4.4 The wires installation / galvanized rings welding begin 5m from the ground.

3.4.5 The spacing between galvanized rings 15 cm along the pole.

3.4.6 The contractor shall ensure that the welding between the ring and the pole can sustain all the
loads.

3.4.7 Galvanized turnbuckle shall be used for fixing the wires, the type of turnbuckle should be sent to
site engineer to get the approval.

3.4.8 Use Wire rope loop thimble to connect the wire with turnbuckle, and Wire rope clips to fix the
wire.

3.5 Earthing and lightening protection system

3.5.1 The contractor shall supply and install earthing system for each protection Fence see Figure
No. 2..

3.5.2 The design of Earthing and lightening protection system shall be as per SEC standard and
submitted to SEC for approval.

3.5.3 Copper conductors shall be used for earthing system.

3.5.4 Concrete inspection pit with 2.4 m copper bounded steel rod shall be installed.

3.5.5 Air terminal system shall be installed in each column, consist of copper rod (500mm and 15mm
dim.) with base at the top of the column and copper ball with 3 antenna rods each one (500mm
and 15mm dim.).

4 DOCUMENTATION

4.1 General

All submitted Documentation shall be in English.

4.2 Construction Drawings and Documentation

The construction drawings shall typically include the following items:

 Site plans
 Anti-Drone fence Locations.

4.3 Post Installation Requirements

The post installation requirements shall typically include the following items:

 As-Built Construction.
 Documented Test Results.
