“LIMINAL”

FADE IN:
EXT. FOREST, RIGHT OUTSIDE THE MYSTERIOUS STRUCTURE – DAY
Nilan and Keifer are standing beside each other, both looking up with a shocked expression at
something in front of them. Behind them is the forest, the trees dark and ominous.
It is an enormous structure that looks like it was built in a brutalist architectural style. The sky
above is grey, the clouds blocking out the sun, making the environment look gloomy and
foreboding.
Nilan reaches out his hand to twist the doorknob to the entrance of the mysterious building.
NILAN (V.O.)
Let’s go in.
CUT TO:
BLACKNESS
The sound of a door slamming can be heard.
CUT TO:
INT. MYSTERIOUS STRUCTURE - UNKOWN
Nilan is staring wide-eyed at the spot beside himself.
NILAN
Keifer?
Keifer, who should have been right beside Nilan, has inexplicably disappeared without a trace
the moment they entered the mysterious structure.
Nilan looks around himself in a distressed manner. The echoes of Nilan’s voice that said
Keifer’s name can still be heard.
CUT TO:
BLACKNESS
NILAN (V.O.)
(Panicked)
Keifer!
CUT TO:
INT. MYSTERIOUS STRUCTURE - UNKOWN
Nilan is turning his head to look around the inside of the mysterious structure.
NILAN (V.O.)
What is this place?
CUT TO:
INT. MYSTERIOUS STRUCTURE – SUNLIT ROOM - DAY
Nilan is standing in a weird room inside of the mysterious structure. This room has a hole
high above on the wall that is letting sunlight through, illuminating Nilan and the room. Some
plants can be seen growing on the cracks in the walls and the ground.
CUT TO:
INT. MYSTERIOUS STRUCTURE – ANOTHER ROOM - UNKOWN
Nilan is coming from around a corner in another strange room. The lighting of this room is
dimmer than the previous one.
CUT TO:
INT. MYSTERIOUS STRUCTURE – CLAUSTROPHOBIC SPACE - UNKOWN
Nilan is squeezing through a tight space between two walls. The lighting is even dimmer.
CUT TO:
INT. MYSTERIOUS STRUCTURE – A DARK PLACE - UNKOWN
Nilan is holding a lit torch in his hand, moving forward with a nervous look on his face. The
environment is pitch black, dimly lit only by the glow of the flame.
NILAN’S POV
The torchlight is illuminating a sentence that is written on a wall:
“I’m right here”.
POV ENDS
A sudden noise startles Nilan, and he quickly turns towards the sound.
FLOOR
Nilan is now lying on the ground, bleeding from the forehead, his blood pooling on the floor.
NILAN’S POV
In front of him, he can see the lower body of a person standing before him.
NILAN (V.O.)
Keifer?
