Introduction:
In this assignment, we're looking at systems that store heat energy, which helps deal with
when energy sources like wind or solar aren't always available. One type, called High-
temperature Thermal Energy Storage (TES), is super useful for industries and making
electricity. We'll focus on how much Thermal Battery Elements (TBE) have the energy
capacity.
By understanding this, we see how High-temperature (TES) helps industries to know the
number of required batteries that need to satisfy the demanded energy with being reliable
and efficient. Both cases involve utilizing Gid software for the Thermal FEA. Gid (The GiD
Pre and Post Processor) is a versatile software tool for generating and analyzing Finite
Element Meshes, commonly used for simulations in various engineering disciplines,
including thermal analysis. It facilitates setting up simulation parameters, running
simulations, and visualizing results, enhancing the understanding of the Thermal Battery
Element's behavior when employing Heatcrete or PCM.
Problem type:
This is the thermal type of analysis and the boundary function is in Discrete, from the
calculations we get the time: amplitude as follows that we use these conditions:
MODELING:
First we have to do
Creation of they geometry:
Using symmetry of the geometry we are just taking 1/4th part into account
Now we make a volume to ensure that our model is ready to do the pre-process:
In the next step we must to apply materials and also boundary conditions:
According to the purpose of our designing battery element with only thermal problem
analyzing we have simple of material properties that we are going to apply them to our
premodeling like as you see:
Mesh generation:
Using the tetrahedral elements for the meshing with size of mesh: 0.3
Then we get the result of Temperature constraints:
ANALYSIS:
