ABSTRACT

C. ternatea is an herbaceous perennial with elliptic, obtuse leaves. It

grows well as a vine or creeper in damp, neutral soil. Its most noticeable feature

is the stunning deep blue hue of its flowers, which are solitary and have light

golden lines. It is grown as an ornamental plant and as a revegetation species

requiring little care when cultivated. This study aims to determine the use of C.

ternatea leaf and flower extracts against the risk of fomite transmission of the

coronavirus causing severe acute respiratory syndrome. The study began with

boiling process of the leaf and flower extracts of the C. ternatea. There are three

(3) set-ups, flowers, leaves and combined leaves and flowers where they were

used as the experimental group. For the assurance of the individuality of the

study, several related literatures, and studies regarding the C. ternatea were

reviewed. This study used convenience sampling method to gather data from the

respondents. On the other hand, the data instrument used is questionnaire which

is based on Likert scale. The Likert scale used is 4 points scale ranging from

strongly agree to strongly disagree. Moreover, the data analysis plan of the

experimental research was analysis of variance (ANOVA), it is used to determine

whether there are any statistically significant differences between the means of

three or more independent (unrelated) groups or setups. The researcher used

the experimental research design.
