BACKGROUND OF THE DESIGN

The proposed residential building is situated at Purok Iba, Palinpinon, Valencia, Negros Oriental,
conveniently located 350 meters away from the main office of Philsouth Builders along the
highway. The lot spans 386 square meters with a perimeter of 78.61 meters.

The contemporary modern house boasts a total area of 232.18 square meters with a perimeter of
95.97 meters. The first floor covers 108.94 square meters (47.98 meters in perimeter), while the
second floor extends to 123.24 square meters (47.99 meters in perimeter). The well-thought-out
design encompasses essential features such as a living area, dining area, kitchen, master bedroom
with ensuite bathroom, two additional bedrooms, a common toilet and bath, a garage, and an
office.

The luminaire and lighting fixtures have been meticulously planned to ensure optimal
functionality and conform to the P.E.C. standard. The design incorporates 31 sets of 30W light
bulbs, 2 sets of 25W bulbs for the toilets on the first and second floors, and 3 sets of 13W
chandeliers. The Lumen method is employed to determine the number of lamps, guaranteeing
effective illumination. Special attention has been given to the placement of switches, with the
chandelier at the stairs equipped with a 2-way switch for convenient access.

The selection of ACU horsepower is based on the cooling capacity in BTU/h, considering heat
loads from windows, lights, TVs, and people. Three sets of 2.5 horsepower ACUs are designated
for Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2, and the office, while the master bedroom is equipped with a
3-horsepower unit.

The electrical plan incorporates 16 convenience outlets and 3 GFCI outlets, strategically placed
to ensure safety in wet areas. Additionally, provisions are made for large appliances such as a
range and refrigerator. Safety circuit breakers, waterproof for the water heater and all four ACUs,
are included in the design.

Two panel boards separate lighting and convenience outlets, preventing overloading, with each
board featuring a spare for future electrical demands. The design adheres to PEC specifications
for mounting heights, with the panel board positioned at 1.8 meters above finish floor level,
switches at 1.25 meters, and convenience outlets at 0.3 meters above finish floor.
In summary, the grand total for materials and labor cost is projected to be 418,175.2. The
proposed electrical plan for the 2-story residential building in Palinpinon, Valencia, Negros
Oriental, not only prioritizes safety and functionality but also anticipates future electrical needs,
making it a comprehensive and forward-looking design.
