Year 7 Learning from home programme of study

It is important that you continue to learn whilst isolating at home. Initially, we have been focusing on
Maths, English and science, but we are now in a position to extend this work to more subjects. Please use
your timetable as a guide to how much time you spend on each subject. If you spend half the normal
lesson time (25 mins) for each timetabled lesson this is a good starting point.
Follow the instructions below to access the programme of study. In order for you to access some of your
home learning you will need to set up an account or have an access code for Seneca. The information
below will support you with this. Most of this can be accessed on any device, not just computers.
If you are unable to access the internet, then please contact the Academy and we will look for alternative
arrangements. Thank you for your support in these very challenging times.
How to set up an account on Seneca
1. Log onto: https://app.senecalearning.com
2. Go on “Create an account” 3. Use your
school details:
a. Your school email address: login name to school PC@holgate‐ac.org.uk
b. Username – Write your name
c. Password – use same as your school one
4. Join the group set up for you by entering the code provided by individual subjects
5. You will need to go to the Assignment section to complete the tasks set by your class teacher.

So, Joseph Bloggs in year 7 would be, josblogg2020@holgate The
password is Holgate with a capital H.
When logged in work should appear here. Your name should be here.

Click on the titles of the tasks and this window appears.

The questions appear at the top when you click on the numbers. There will be little videos for each
question if you are struggling.
When you have finished this work, you can login to www.mymaths.co.uk and begin working through
your booster packs. These have been set by your teacher and are specific to your target grade.

Personal Development
In Personal Development students should aim to work through the Step Up booklet which has been uploaded to the
Teams files. This booklet will take students through a range of careers development tasks. The booklets are
interactive and prompt students to click the ‘sign’ button which will then enable them to fill in the booklet on line –
when they have finished they should click done signing and save the file in their area or send back to the teacher via
Teams. You should aim to complete one task a week for example all the exercises in task A.

The Academy has subscribed to a careers programme called Indigo that students can log in to access to support the
work set in Personal development.
To get started, go to https://indigo.trotman.co.uk/default/login and use the following login:
