3D Printing
The video teaches us about how before printing, you need to download a cad model (.STL file)
in order to upload your object. It shows us that we need to input it to a slicing software in order
to edit the layers, temperature, color, speed, and tool path of the printer. The two main types of
printing are SLA and most popular FDM. Although FDM being the cheaper option for beginners,
SLA can be very good and even better in certain situations. The different filaments are PLA,
ABS, nylon, carbon fiber, tpu, wood, metal, glow in the dark, and PVA. For making CAD models
Autodesk Fusion 360, Google sketchup, and Tinkercad are all places where you can create a
design (you can also find quick, premade models online). Makerware, Cura. and Simplify 3d are
all softwares that you can use for slicing. The FDM machines can be one or have dual extruders
which can print two different material.
