1 Ball (A)
• 830-149 Lion Brand New Cotton-Ease: Stone

• 830-125 Lion Brand New Cotton-Ease: Hazelnut
1 Ball (C)
• Lion Brand Knitting Needles- Size 6 [4.00 mm]
• Large-Eyed Blunt Needles

GAUGE:

20 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Seed Stitch. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When
you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern
and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches
and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if
more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

K1, p1 Rib (even number of sts)


Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to end.
Repeat Row 1 for K1, p1 Rib.

Seed St (even number of sts)


Row 1 (WS): *P1, k1; rep from * to end.

Row 2: *K1, p1; rep from * to end.


Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for Seed St.

HAT
With A, cast on 90 (100, 110) sts. Work in K1, p1 Rib for 1 in. (2.5 cm), end with a WS row.
Next Row (RS): Knit.
Next Row (WS): Beg with Row 1, work in Seed St until piece measures 2 1/2 (2 1/2, 3) in. (6.5 (6.5, 7.5)

Next Row (RS): With B, knit.

Cut yarn, leaving an 18 in. (45.5 cm) tail. Thread tail into large eyed needle and through remaining 9 (10,
11) sts, pull tog tightly and fasten off.

FINISHING
Sew seam. Weave in ends.
