Write a literature survey essay (1500) that discusses any one of the two:

1. Feminism & Literature

2. Dalit Turn in Literature

Expectations:

1. Assimilation of Classroom Discussions.

2. Detailed analysis with proper citation.
3. A wide coverage of secondary literature on the field/topic with special emphasis on the works that
defined the field and advanced it all the way from its inception to the present. This means, you have to
go well beyond the course readings and bring your own readings into play. I am not expecting you to
be exhaustive. It is advisable to select representative readings.

4. Though the essay is meant to be extensive, it doesn't mean that it cannot have an intensive part in
which you discuss one particular feminist or Dalit studies theoretical text in detail, like a sample,
especially towards the end of the essay.

3. You need to link the theories with literature.

4. Generic cataloguing of secondary literature without finer detailing is discouraged and will result in
low grades.
