GROUP 1: Checklists - annotations of environmental features or factors that need to be identified when identifying impacts.

GROUP 2: Matrices - Interactions between project activitites and environmental characteristics.

GROUP 3: Networks - Cause effect relationship of project activities and environmental characteristics.

GROUP 4: Overlays and Geographics Information syster (GIS) - Mapping impacts spatially and are then displaued pictorally. The GIS is a
moderne version of the overlay method

GROUP 5: Expert systems - Expert knowledge and judegement throught the usage of questionaire
