IT Policy regarding the use of personal computer,

computer terminal, internet, email and computer software

To achieve a secure computer network requires all users to abide by some simple rules of good housekeeping
to keep our system secure and operational. Following your pledge to abide by the procedures outlined below
you will be issued a user identity (ID) and password that will allow you to access our systems.

1. I agree not to leave an unattended terminal logged on and to switch off the power whenever I leave the
office.

2. I agree not to release my passwords to anyone outside of the IT Department

3. I agree not to allow anyone to use a terminal that has been logged on under my user ID.

4. I agree not to use external storage device whatever its origin that has been brought in from outside the
office, without it first being cleared by the IT Department. All external storage devices for office backup
purposes must have a company label. No other devices are allowed.

5. I agree not to remove any storage devices or hardware from the office, without the media first being
cleared by the IT Department.

6. I agree that relocation of any company hardware needs to be agreed by or under the monitoring of IT
Department

7. I agree that I am responsible for the security and safekeeping of portable and other equipment used by me

8. I agree to have the machine I am using, and all external storage devices made available for spot checking
for viruses as required. If I am using a machine at other locations in conjunction with work in the office, I
agree to have this machine, and all other external storage devices made available for viruses checking as
required.

9. I agree when using the Network to follow all file naming conventions as outlined by the IT Department.

10. I agree to have all software installed on my machine only by members of the IT Department. And I shall
use the software only in accordance with the license agreement. According to the Hong Kong Copyright
Ordinance, persons involved in the illegal reproduction / downloading of software can be subject to civil
damages of as much as HK$50,000.00 and criminal penalties, including fines and imprisonment. The
Company does not condone the illegal duplication of software. Employees who acquire or use
unauthorized copies of computer software shall be disciplined as appropriate under the circumstances.
Such discipline may include termination of employment.

11. I agree not to use the e-mail system for political, business or commercial purposes not related to the
company, and must not use it to send illegal or inappropriate material.

12. I agree that the e-mail global distribution lists should be used appropriately. E-mails to all staff (spamming)
should be used only when appropriate.

13. I agree that the use of my computer to visit web sites that contain messages of hatred, racism, sexism,
violence or pornography and/or to receive, send or store such context could jeopardize my future
employment with the Company. I acknowledge that the Company reserves the right to monitor e-mails,
attachments & visited websites in order to ensure this policy.

14. I agree that should I breach any of the above procedures this could result in my computer user privileges
being revoked and may jeopardize my future employment with the Company.

I am fully aware of the IT policies of the Company and agree to uphold those policies.
