First off I want to say Thank You, twice in fact. First off for electing me the new club President and allowing me
the opportunity to lead this club. Secondly for everyones efforts in making the Dirt Rondy an excellent event.
I wanted to take this first message to give everyone a little background on myself. As many know Lani and I run
Keahi Siberian Huskies and our goal is to showcase the breed in as many aspects as possible including,
Conformation, Sledding, Weight Pulling, as well as working on some Working pack dog titles. We’ve been in
Siberians in some form or another for around 10yrs now. I myself have been in dogs most of my life as my
mother used to be the proprietor of Nelshire Kennels in New York (most known for Borzoi, but worked with many
other breeds also). So, some of you may wonder what may give me the experience to preside over our club.
Well I have been fortunate to have many life experiences at my age. Currently I’m a Lieutenant for Stevens
County Fire District 1, included in that I’m charged with being a Training coordinator, Safety Officer, Coordinator
and Secretary for our Safety Committee among many other duties. In the past I was the Operations Manager for
the Spokane Shock Arena Football team, which included managing many aspects of team and company
operations such as, logistics and personnel for special events, team travel and game day experiences. Some
other experiences that I believe may help are the time that Lani and I worked with Adopt-A-Husky Inc - West as
Rescue Coordinators, and we both currently serve on North Eastern Washington Humane Society offices, Lani
as a Board of Director and myself as Vice-President as well as working with
many other clubs in the past and assisting in set up of their legal existence.
So enough about me, lets talk about the club a little. First off my goals are
to maintain and expand the greatness this club has performed since the
70’s. While i want to keep the history of this club in the forefront, I also
want to help elevate this club. Using both my knowledge in marketing and
putting on events as well as the wealth of knowledge that all of you can
bring to the table. Lucky for me this club has been well managed in the
past, giving us the best possible foundation to continue building upon. I
have many ideas and plans for the clubs future and hope you all are as
excited to move forward as I am. With that said I plan on our future being a
marathon not a sprint meaning the updates and changes won’t happen
over night it’ll take some time and want to make sure everyone is onboard Brian Ferrante
with my plans and ideas. Keahi Siberian Huskies

MEMBER NEWS
AND BRAGS
INTRODUCING BELLA
The Dashing Kennel is pleased to announce it’s
latest arrival: SierraWind’s Bella at Dashing!
Bella is 5 months old and is a Siberian Husky out
of running lines. Bella was bred by Sheryl
O’Rourke of Prineville, OR and SierraWind
Siberians. Bella’s sire is Arcticgrace’s Bodhi at
SierraWind and her dam is Tumnatki’s Kaze at
SierraWind. Currently Bella’s favorite things are
racing around in the exercise yards chasing Ellie,
going on puppy walks with Maja, umping or
otherwise tormenting her current roomie “Iris”, or
rolling in the pillows on Jill’s futon in her study!
Next spring however she will begin to join the
rest of the Dashing team!
