Ian Fleming was born in London on 25th May, 1905. He studied at Eton College, the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and
the Universities of Munich and Geneva. Fleming worked in journalism, banking, and newspaper management and as a
personal assistant to the Director of Naval Intelligence during the Second World War Fleming became famous as the creator
of the spy, James Bond. His first successful book was Casino Royale.
Between 1953 and his death on 12th August 1964 he wrote eighteen books. His most famous books are: Goldfinger, Diamonds
are Forever, Live and Let Die, You only live twice. The actors Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan have played the
part of James Bond in the films based on Fleming´s books.
