Abstract
Herbal medicine has become a very safe, non-toxic and easily available sources of
diseases treating compounds. In the present study , was carried out to investigate
whether the medicinal plants such as Musa acuminata has ability to fight against
pathogenic organisms. The preliminary phytochemical analysis of the plant was
carried out by using acetonic extract. Antipyretic activity and wound healing of the
plant was carried out. The acetonic extract of Musa acuminata leaves at the dose
level of 250 mg/ kg body weight exhibited the highest actual temperature reduce
which compared well with the reference to drug aspirin. In excision wound
analysis the contraction of wound progress identically with providing iodine
ointment and in wound treated with formulation of acetonic extract of Musa
acuminata leaves in the three groups healing was observed on the 16 th day and
the test group consisting of the acetonic extract of Musa acuminata leaves were
found to exemplary and exhibited 71.65% in comparison to standard with 90.4%
healing in excision wound. The extract treated wounds were found to heal much
faster as indicated by improved rates of epithelialization and wound contraction.
