For Year 7 and 8 students who wish to try out the
cello before buying their own instrument. Tuition is
received as part of a small group (rather like the
Beginner Band scheme). Fee for lessons and hire of a
Cello costs AED 500 per term. For further

Work with the pros and learn how to compose!
Compulsory ECA for all extracurricular GCSE
students and a great way to stay on top of your
coursework at GCSE. It is also great for those in years
7-9 to get one step ahead if you enjoy composing

Concert Band is for the more advanced musician
learning a woodwind, brass or percussion
instrument. Expected standard is a minimum of
Grade 5+ and is open to students in all year groups.

Extra Aural and Accompaniment –

These extra aural / Solfege classes are for those
students who wish to improve their general
musicianship and Aural Skills. If you would like to
run through your pieces with an experienced

a practical subject and we will use a relative do
system, where the tonic of the key is always a "do" in
major keys and always "la" in minor keys. Almost all
major music institutes in the world have solfege

Young Musicians of the Gulf (YMoG)

This is an international competition held in Bahrain
at the end of January 2024. This is open to our
advanced students usually learning an instrument to
approximately Grade 8+ standard. All entries must
come through Ms Lee-Foster.
