HOME/ ACCOMODATION

What kind of housing/accommodation do you live in?

I live in a mezzanine house. That has a living room, two bathrooms, a kitchen, 3 bedrooms,
and a pretty rich garden with a variety of plants. It’s not really a spacious house, but it’s just
right for me and my family.

Mezzanine: gác lẩng

Who do you live with?

I live with my parents but in summer and Tet holiday, my family will gather so also have my
three sisters. We always get on well with each other and have a lot of fun.

Get on well with sb (phrasal verb): (hòa hợp với ai đó) to have a friendly relationship with
somebody

How long have you lived there?

I’ve lived there since I was a child but 2 years ago, I moved to downtown and lived in my
school’s dormitory because my house is quite far from school. But I felt uncomfortable so I
moved back home after 2 years. And I have never regretted that decision.

What’s the difference between where you are living now and where you have lived in the
past?

Living in a dorm with other roommates is totally different from living in my own house. One
of the obvious disadvantages of living in a dorm is the distractions, especially when you are
studying. Dorming means living with the others, they’re talkative and their friends come and
go throughout the day. Not to mention the space is narrower there and inevitably, you have to
share the bathroom. Conversely, when I was living at home, I had my own spacious room and
it made me feel comfortable.

Reunion (noun): (tụ họp, xum họp) a social occasion or party attended by a group of people
who have not seen each other for a long time

Ex: The College has an annual reunion for former students.

Inevitably: ko thể tránh khỏi

Do you plan to live there for a long time?

To be honest, I intend to move to another city for university, I will rent a small house near
my school. I can decorate with whatever facilities I want.

Which room does your family spend most of the time in?

It’s definitely the living room. Not only lunch or dinner time but all our family reunions take
place in the living room because it has a tv so all the family members can get together to eat
tasty meals, chat to each other and watch tv when we feel bored– it’s a really harmonious
atmosphere.

Please describe the room you live in.

My current room looks very minimalistic, it is painted white, new a large bed, a fairly large
desk which was made by wood, and a bookcase, a window makes the room feel larger and
can look outside. I really be into my room, it's a suitable space for me to sleep and work.

What part of your home do you like the most ?

I prefer my bedroom most due to its convenience and privacy. Because of my stressful work I
want to be in a quiet place and concentrate on my work. In my own room, I’m never
disturbed by anyone else. Moreover, in my own space I can do whatever I want without
bothering others, I can do yoga, I can decorate and design my ideal room with whatever
facilities I want that help me blow off some steam.

Describe your garden pls?

The majority of the plants in my garden are veggies, which I don't know their name because I
just want to eat them rather than take care of them in addition, Fruit trees like guava, papaya,
and mango trees as well as roses and other flowers along the garden's perimeter. A lot of
birds come here, and the air is constantly fresh.

Guava: cây ổi

Papaya: đu đủ

Perimeter: chu vi
