iCEM is an autonomous institution established by the Government of Gujarat under
the auspices of the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation. With a vision to be
India's leading institute for enabling sustainable mining from societal, environmental
and commercial standpoints, iCEM aims to catalyse growth of the mining sector,
helping it become more efficient, safe and sustainable.

Recognising the ever-evolving mining landscape and its impact on both economic
growth and the environment, iCEM adopts a comprehensive approach that
encompasses capacity building and skill development, developing knowledge
resources, evaluating best-in-class technologies, validating breakthrough innovations
for adoption in GMDC, and forging strategic collaborations with reputed national and
international institutions. And it deploys its expertise pan-India, across its focus areas
of Water, Earth and the Environment, Energy, and Digitalisation.

Internship Details:
• Duration: 3-6 months (extendable for another 6 months based on requirement
and performance)
• Location: iCEM Campus, Dev Cholera Village, Off Bavla to Rajkot Highway,
Ta:Bavla, Dist: Ahmedabad Gujarat State 382240 (about 45 Kms from
Ahmedabad City)
• Type: Paid, On-site
• Departments: Marketing, Skill Development, Technology and Innovation
• Start Date: Jan 2024
• Stipend/Compensation: Up to Rs 30,000/- per month.
• Pick and Drop: Yes (from GMDC Corporate office - Ahmedabad to the Campus
and back)

What You Can Expect:

o Creating and driving projects for identification and evaluation of new
technologies related to lignite/coal mining beneficiation plants for generating
new source of revenue, lignite/coal gasification, pumped hydro energy
storage, alternate energy generation
o Digitalisation, Deployment of AI and IoT, AR/VR, Platform for Vision
Intelligence for Mine mapping
o Zero Emission trucks/vehicles, Production, recovery, improvement of waste
water
o Carbon capture and storage
o Marketing projects like analysing market size and opportunity of different
products, competitive landscape, demand and price dynamics, overall supply
chain, customer segmentation, analysis, modeling and insights basis ERP data
o Branding and Promotion projects like iCEM website development and
management, driving social media presence, conducting outreach programs
and relationship building for identifying and nurturing collaboration
opportunities
o Skill Development projects like designing and delivering training programs
for supervisory and managerial staff, arranging seminars and conferences
o Projects for driving innovation by working with GMDC and different
incubators to identify problem areas and conducting PoC of select innovative
solutions.

Career Development:
1. Certificate upon successful completion of internship/training
2. High performers will be considered for full-time positions

Qualifications:
• Graduate/Post-graduate degree (preferably enginnering, management, science
and technology)
• Excellent communication, self-driven and problem-solving skills
