Greetings!
The significance of International Women's Day grows as India celebrates the Amrit
Mahotsava of its independence. The nation also remembers those women stalwarts
and inspiring women who helped preserve India's identity. Following the path shown
by beacons of women power like Kittur's Rani Chennamma, Matangini Hazra, Rani
Lakshmibai, Jhalkari Bai, Ahalyabai Holkar and Savitribai Phule, the New India is working
to build a country of their dreams.
Only a nation-society that values women can progress. In the last few years from
ensuring their safety to independence, the government has taken a number of important
steps, due to which half of the population now has a safe environment where they can
exhibit their skills. New India's thinking is not limited to women's development; rather, it
has embarked on a journey of women-led development.
As a result, whether it's the army or a startup, the Olympics or research, the country's
daughters are excelling in every field in New India today. Whether it is an increase in
women's participation in Parliament or an increase in the number of women in relation
to men in the sex ratio, this shift indicates how powerful the New India will be. Women-
sensitive policies in the country, such as "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao," have awoken society.
People now want to see their daughters soar to self-reliance and wish to secure their
future.
Women's power is becoming the vehicle of prosperity for the nation as a result of the
central government's schemes and policies. It's the cover story on the eve of International

INDIA MOVING TOWARDS SELF-RELIANCE

IN PULSES PRODUCTION
P ulses are the most convenient and nutritious source of
protein. So, as part of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan
Anna Yojana, the government ensured the free availability of
pulses alongside wheat and rice in order to improve the general
populace's nutrition. By 2050, India's pulse consumption is
expected to reach 3.2 million tonnes per year. The vast bulk of
India's pulses is imported from other countries. The government
decided to promote pulse production as well in order to achieve
self-sufficiency. A two-pronged strategy was adopted. On the
one hand, the government urged scientists to develop crops
and seeds for a wide range of pulses, on the other hand farmers
were encouraged to grow pulses. 150 pulse seed hubs have
been established across the country. The MSP for pulses has
been raised from 40% to 73%. As a result, there has been an
astounding increase in pulse production. According to the fourth
advance estimate for 2021-22, the country's pulse production
increased from 192.7 lakh tonnes in 2013-14 to 257.2 lakh
tonnes. Every year, the country would save more than Rs 15,000
crore if imports were reduced.

Naukri Jobspeak Index, recruitment increased
annually by a record of 41% in January.. The index
reached a high of 2,716 in January 2022, up from
1925 in January 2021. New job creation was
concentrated primarily in sectors like IT-software,
retail, and telecommunications. The reason for
this was that the business world was very excited
about the future prospects. In comparison with
2021, the majority of key sectors showed signs
of strong growth. Telecom (48%), Retail (58%), IT-
Software (80%), Education (31%), Pharma (29%),
Medical/Healthcare (10%), Oil & Gas/Power (10%)
other industries, such as insurance (8%), FMCG
(7%), and manufacturing (2%), saw an increase in
hiring compared to the previous year.

women in the labor force in the New India for which the central
government is constantly taking new initiatives. 'Sabka Saath,
Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas' is the motto
