APPRECIATION. We thank God for bringing us to the end of
Second Term 2023/2024 session. Our appreciation also goes to
you for choosing to give your children the high quality education
and care they need. Our prayer is that God will continue to provide
for you and that you will reap the fruits of your labour in Jesus’
name.
ON THE NEW AND RIGHT WAY TO PAY FEES. Still some of our
parents don’t pay the right way as we have been asking them to
do it. This is making acknowledgement of payments, receipting
such payments and accounting difficult. We have always advised
that you write the name of each child on separate teller when
paying cash at the bank. Pay completely for each child in a
separate teller. Also give clear description of the purpose of the
payment. Similarly, when making transfers or using banking Apps,
kindly follow the above guideline and give good description. To
further simplify the process, we asked that our parents use the
SkoolConnect App linked to Klacify App to make the payment.
This will also take them to their children’s report sheets and other
records which are automatically generated. Then, Thoroughbred
School receipt will be automatically generated for you on your
phone or devices once confirmed. Since then, only few parents
have downloaded the App and therefore not enough for the school
invest much in using that. Kindly join us in increasing the
digitization of some of our critical administrative processes.
GRADUATION LEVY AND SCHOOL FEES. Every Third Term is requirement in using most e-learning platforms.

pupils/students pay for graduation levy. We are planning the
graduation programme so that there will not be much increase in
the levy despite increase in prices of goods. For the pupils in the
graduating classes, the levy covers cost of graduation gowns,
souvenirs, awards, photo album, and certificates. Graduating
classes are: Pre-nursery, Nursery 3, Basic 6, JSS 3 and each child
in the graduating classes pays N20,000. Non-graduating classes
are: Nursery 1, Nursery 2, Basic 2, Basic 3, Basic 4, Basic 5, JSS 1,
JSS 2. Pupils in non-graduation classes pay N10,000. The school

MUTILATED UNIFORMS. It has been observed that some parents
lift the school badges from some condemned uniforms and stitch
them on materials they sew elsewhere. As a result of this we see
different types of style and shades of colour of uniform that are
different from the Thoroughbred School uniforms. So, instead of
us to see the beauty in uniformity in the children, what we
sometime see is an eyesore. Be aware that the school seizes
mutilated, patched uniforms and the likes. Any parent who uses
Thoroughbred badge to sew any uniform outside should please
take note because such uniform will be seized.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. During the second term we had
our extracurricular activities like: 60 seconds to fame, fruits day,
classroom projects, creativity day and excursion appropriate for
their age and themes.
E-LEARNING TRAINING. Thumbs up for our parents. More are
buying devices or loaning their devices to the students in
preparing the secondary students for e-learning. We hope to
continue this training in Third Term. Kindly open an email for your
child before resumption if he/she has none as this is a
SECONDARY SECTION PRACTICAL. Each of the students in the
secondary section should buy either a cutlass or a hoe before
resuming for the Third Term for school sanitation and school
farm project. The school uses plastic ponds for small scale Fish
Farming for teaching purposes. So, parents who want their
children do practical fishery and harvest their fish are encouraged
to indicate so that we group them before school resumes for
Third Term. Other practical are done as STEAM projects,
excursions, fieldtrips, etc.
