Configuring CSF for Employee Data

Determining Country:

❖ Employment Info country comes from the assignment of the


Legal Entity.

❖ The personal information portlets uses Country assigned in


the portlet.

Configuring XML Files:

❖ The <HRIS-element> needs to exist in both the SDM and


CSF SDM.

❖ However, the <HRIS-field> does NOT exist in both.

Additional XML Tips and Reminders
✓ XMLPad: Search with CTRL+F, Use (F3) to advance to the next match
✓ Only edit within the “Source” view for XML Pad – Use Table view for navigation
✓ Validate & save your XML frequently
✓ Make sure to version your xml for each exercise
✓ Make sure you set the visibility and required fields correctly if you copy the XML from a different part of the file.
✓ Use the attributes section on the left side of XMLPad to make a field visible or required
✓ Use spaces when pasting XML to make it easier to see what you edited – remember that it wont cause issues
✓ Make sure to update the EN-US label in your XML or change may not show in EC
✓ Make sure to hide fields that you don’t want to see in the front end
✓ Be aware of placing the XML fields in the right order
▪ Per the Note in the book the “Country” field will always come first regardless of where it is in the XML, so you don’t need to
worry about moving that field
✓ Make sure to use the system field ID for custom strings and custom dates defined in the solution and not your own number (These
have been tested)
▪ Field may not show if you don’t use it correctly
