Ans: Muhammad Bin Tughalaq undertook some projects and military expedition that
ended in failure. These projects were transfer of the capital, higher taxation in the
doab, introduction of token currency and the khurasan expedition. Due to the failure of
these projects, some historians describe him as the ‘wise fool’.

transfer the capital from Delhi to Daulatabad?
Ans: Muhammad bin tughlaq aimed to strengthen his control over the Deccan region,
protect the empire from Mongol invasions and foster economic growth by promoting
trade with South Indian kingdoms. He sought to decentralize power and reduce the
influence of the nobility in Delhi.

government.
