1. The retail point-of-sale (POS) systems designed with a user-friendly interface where
cashiers can easily interact with customers and manage purchases. The system has secure payment
portal where transactions are safely processed, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience.
The system also has an inventory interface allowing for monitoring and updates on stock levels as
products are sold.

2. Middleware is software that provides common services and capabilities to applications


outside of what's offered by the operating system. It benefits by providing functionality to connect
applications intelligently and efficiently so that you can innovate faster. Common middleware
examples include database middleware, application server middleware, message-oriented
middleware, web middleware, and transaction-processing monitors.

3. It is important because laws are rules you must follow, policies are guidelines for
acceptable behavior, and procedures are steps for doing tasks. They all affect how systems work.

4. AYALA CORPORATION

1. Ayala Corporation: One of the oldest and largest conglomerates in the Philippines, involved
in real estate, banking, telecommunications, water infrastructure, electronics, and more.
Ayala fulfills its mission to ensure long-term profitability and value creation. In 2022, Ayala
Land Inc.'s total revenue was valued at 126.56 billion Philippine pesos. This reflects an
increase from the previous year's total.
2. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems
- Ayala Corp might utilize ERP systems like SAP or Oracle to integrate various business
processes such as finance, human resources, procurement, and supply chain
management.

4. The ERP system generates extensive data and reports on sales performance, inventory
levels, supply chain efficiency, financial transactions, and general business operations from
the owner's point of view.
5. In initiating a project to replace or modify a system within Ayala Corporation, the system
owner would define the scope and vision by aligning with organizational objectives,
assessing current system limitations, setting clear project goals, identifying stakeholders and
requirements, establishing scope boundaries, and articulating a concise vision statement to
guide the project.
6. Typical users might include employees across various departments such as finance, human
resources, operations, and IT.
7. Finance professionals use the system to look at financial reports and data to help them
decide how to spend money and where to invest it. HR people use it to manage things like
employee information, performance reviews, and payroll, making it easier to hire and
manage staff. Operations managers use the system to keep an eye on how things are made
and delivered. IT folks use it to keep the company's computer systems running smoothly,
fixing problems, and making sure everything stays safe and up-to-date.

8. System owners ensure that the system aligns with the company's strategic objectives and
delivers value, while users rely on the information produced to enhance their productivity
and decision-making within their respective roles.
