The Star Alliance was founded on May 14, 1997 as the


world’s first airline alliance. The five pyramids in the logo
symbolize the five founding airlines: Air Canada,
Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways
International and United Airlines.

Oneworld network provides Emerald and Sapphire travelers a break from the busyness.
Access to more than 600 airport lounges worldwide is one of the special privileges and
rewards enjoyed by those with Emerald and Sapphire oneworld tiers.
Those travelling in a First or Business Class cabin on any oneworld member alliance may
also receive lounge access.

LOUNGE ACESS POLICY

To be eligible, you must be departing on a flight that is both marketed and operated by oneworld
member airline.
Members of oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes with the equivalent of oneworld Emerald
or Sapphire tier status can use lounges offered by oneworld airlines when departing on any flight
marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline, regardless of cabin class being flown.
Infants under 2 years will not be counted as a guest when travelling with an eligible adult
customer.

VANILLA ALLIANCE
The Vanilla Alliance is the sixth and last world
airline alliance as of now.
In the august of 2010, six islands came together
under the alias ‘Vanilla Islands’ to strengthen
tourism. These are Maldives, Comoros Reunion,
Mauritius, Madagascar Mayotte, and Seychelles.

The Vanilla Alliance has officially been launched


during a signing ceremony in Antananarivo,
Madagascar. Founded on September 21,2015.
The alliance promotes better air connectivity, cheap
air ticket booking offers and optimizing codeshare
partners.

Air Austral, Air Madagascar, Air Mauritius, Air
Seychelles, and Int’Air Îles.
